High humidity, frequent temperature changes, lack of light, it would seem, make the bathroom an inappropriate place for plants. Despite this, there are varieties that can endure such "Spartan" conditions.
The location . Flowers should be located away from the sink and bathtub, from which water splashes constantly. For flowering plants, window sills are well suited. If the room is large, far from the window you can place aspidistra, asparagus and other deciduous plants. It is advisable to put them in front of the mirror so that the reflection enhances the decorative effect.
Climbing philodendron, ivies and other varieties of climbing will be appropriate on high shelves and wall holders. Fern prefers high humidity, and hardy ivy will have enough low light.
Flowering plants, such as Kalanchoe and Saintpaulia, can be placed in flowerpots on a pedestal or a small table. Of course, they will not live long, but all this time the owners will delight their appearance. For the same decorative purpose, you can : the bouquet is no worse than a potted plant.
Leaving . Unlike flowers located in the living room, bedroom or nursery, plants in the bathroom need more careful care. Once a week, you need to wash the leaves with a damp cloth. If they are heavily contaminated with various chemicals - varnishes, sprays, powder - they can be washed under running water. If a paste, shampoo or shower gel gets on a sheet, it must be wiped immediately.
Since pubescent plants are difficult to wipe, it is best not to place them in the bathroom at all. Flowering specimens that need the sun should be regularly turned to the light.
As soon as the plants begin to fade, you need to transfer them to another room. In a month they will return to normal, and you can return them to their original place. You can rid yourself of such problems by doing : fresh flowers in a vase will decorate any room.
The interior . Plants should be in harmony with the style of the bathroom. For example, in strict minimalist lines callas and orchids look good. A country-style room will be decorated with simple, rustic flowers like daisies and cornflowers.
In terms of color combination, it is worth sticking to contrast or matching. If the bathroom is vanilla or light yellow, the flowers should be selected in tone, yellow, or, conversely, blue, purple.
