Nickelback became famous for their lyrical ballads and the memorable baritone of Chad Krueger - the main soloist of the Canadian rock band. Chad cannot be separated from his project: at the age of 21, he founded it and, in fact, during all these years did not do anything else except music and songwriting. How did Chad Kruger get on the musical Olympus, and what are the band's frontman plans for the future?
Nickelback Education
Chad Kruger, whose biography began in Canada in the small town of Hannah, doesn’t really talk about what he did until 1995, the actual founding of Nickelback. It is known that Krueger worked in the
advertising business for some time and these skills were useful to him when promoting his own project.
Chad Nickelbac organized with his brother Mike, who still performs with the band as a bass player. Chad gave his stepfather to record the first demo album of $ 4,000. Nickelbac was written in Vancouver. Tracks from this album repeatedly fell into rotation on local radio.
Then the young project moved to permanent residence in Vancouver, they managed to record a second album and go on a tour of Canada with "3 Doors Down". And only after that, Chad and his team signed a contract with a major label, and their musical career went uphill.
Collaboration with other artists
Chad Krueger is currently known to everyone not only as a vocalist, but also a guitarist, music producer, and a good composer. Often he collaborates with other artists, creating songs for them or recording soundtracks for films.
For example, in 2002, Chad, together with the project participants Saliva, Theory of a Deadman and Our Lady Peace, created an unconditional hit for the blockbuster Spider-Man - the song “Hero”.
Chad is the author of the song “Why Don't You & I”, which was included on Carlos Santana's album “Shaman”. Collaboration with Santana Kruger continued in 2007, again working on the song "Into the Night" for his album "Ultimate Santana".
Together with Travis Tritt, Chad Krueger sang the song “Should've Listened” for Tritt's album “The Storm”. By the way, this song is present in Nickelback's album - “The Long Road”. In a word, Chad regularly collaborates with other artists and plans to do this in the future: cooperation is an integral part of his musical career.
Scandalous stories
Chad Kruger is involved in several scandalous stories, as befits a rock star.
In the summer of 2006, he was stopped in a province in western Canada for speeding. The officer who detained Kruger immediately ran an alcohol test, which showed that his level in the rocker's blood was doubled. The case was referred to court. Kruger’s lawyers challenged both the test results and the allegedly illegal search of his car. But in the end, Chad was found guilty, and the musician had to pay a $ 600 fine, in addition to this - forget about driving a car for a year.
In 2009, Chad again became a defendant in the litigation - this time about the fight he had committed. According to the testimony of a certain Noah Morse, Chad attacked him near a nightclub and with blows provoked a concussion in a young man.
This ends the modest list of scandalous adventures of Kruger, which is even surprising for the leader of one of the most popular alternative groups.
Marriage with Avril Lavigne
At the end of February 2012, Chad Krueger was involved in the recording of one of the songs for the fifth studio album of another Canadian rock star - Avril Lavigne. Sympathy arose between the young people, they talked for six months, but Chad Krueger admitted to reporters that they began to meet officially only on July 1 - Canada Day. On August 8, Avril received an engagement ring on which a 14-carat pebble shone. But the wedding was postponed for a year.
Avril Lavigne carefully planned the upcoming celebration. It took place on July 1, 2013 in the south of France. The honeymoon began with a boat trip.
Happy Lavigne and Chad Krueger sold the ceremony photo to Hello magazine. For Chad, it was the first marriage in his life, for Lavigne - the second.
But in 2014, rumors were already circulating about the impending divorce of the couple. None of the newlyweds confirmed them, but did not refute them either.
