How to pierce your ears

Today, women and men wear earrings with great pleasure. Although initially this jewelry was intended specifically for the stronger sex. In ancient Egypt and Assyria, earrings determined the man's affiliation to the upper class. The Romans, in contrast, marked their slaves in this way. However, noble matrones also wore rich jewelry made of precious stones, gold and silver.

The gloomy Middle Ages was marked by the strictest ban on wearing earrings, since the clergy believed that piercing the ears meant damaging the body created by the Lord in his own image. However, despite this, there were people who did not give a damn about the prohibitions, since they did not worship the church too much. These were pirates, sailors and thieves.

In Russia, earrings served not only as decoration, but also as part of the outfit. All parents of girls considered it a duty to pierce the ears of the child, regardless of class and affluence. Earrings were also considered a talisman, therefore, metal and stones for their manufacture were chosen especially carefully. Especially common were jewelry made of silver and copper. People richer preferred gold. Earrings with stones and pendants were intended for ladies, men chose simpler and more concise forms.

It has become much easier for modern fashionistas to decorate themselves. After all, now you can pierce your ears absolutely safely with a special gun.
It looks like this: a beautician treats the lobes with alcohol, sets up a place for the hole, puts the device on and presses the "trigger". One click and you're done. Along with a puncture, an earring made of surgical steel is threaded into the hole. Decoration remains in the ears until the wound is completely healed. After that, you can safely pull out these earrings and smack those that you like best.

The procedure is carried out in the cabin and takes no more than five minutes. The average cost of a service is about one thousand rubles. After the puncture, additional wound treatment may be required. To do this, use any disinfectant solution (peroxide, furatsilin, chlorhexidine).

In this way, you can even pierce the ears of a child. This manipulation is almost painless, but the baby should be able to sit evenly and calmly. It is not recommended to pierce the ears of children under three years of age, and it is even better to wait until the child grows up and decides on his own how to dispose of his own body.

Advice on how to pierce your ears yourself is useful to those who live away from large cities and do not find time to travel to a specialist. From personal experience I will say that such a manipulation, even at home, is not too painful. Try to squeeze a stronger earlobe between the nails, and you will experience the same feeling. Blood flowing in the river, too, can not wait. From a small puncture, a few drops stand out.

In order to pierce your ears at home, you need an assistant, preferably with experience in such manipulations, a gypsy needle and a solid substrate (always sterile). For disinfection, it is better to use alcohol or vodka. Also prepare gold earrings that you need to put into your ears immediately after the puncture. Jewelry, silver and copper are completely unsuitable for this purpose. I also do not recommend using earrings - cloves. If the ear is still swollen, they simply end up inside the earlobe and it will be difficult to remove them.

Rinse with alcohol before disinfecting the earrings. At first, to accelerate healing, wipe the wound with alcohol and lubricate with chloramphenicol, sintomycin or tetracycline ointment.

For the first time after a puncture, refrain from swimming in pools and open reservoirs so as not to bring the infection into an open wound. Note that the holes in the earlobes tighten quite quickly, especially in the first months, so do not remove the earrings for a long time.
