October 4 - Animal Day in many countries of the world

The presence of an infinite number of animals existing on the wonderful planet Earth makes our own life journey richer.

International Animal Day
Representatives of the animal world delight us with their grace and beauty, surprise us with strength, speed, dexterity. They are a natural decoration of our planet and need love, care and protection.

Unfortunately, in our world there are many things that threaten the life and future of many animals: excessive consumption of natural resources, destruction of habitats, thoughtless interference in the ecosystem and simply indifferent, and sometimes cruel, attitude to our four-legged friends.

Arthur Schopenhauer argued that a person who is cruel to animals cannot be kind, because compassion is characteristic of kindness. There are a lot of people in the world who can be kind to all living creatures, sympathize and take care of them. They combine their efforts in preserving the wild wildlife of the planet and protecting the rights of pets. On their initiative, the International Congress of Conservationists in 1931 decided to establish International Animal Day. In many countries, conservation societies supported the initiative and showed their willingness to celebrate this date annually.

Animal Day

Russia has become especially active in taking part in activities related to Animal Day since 2000. However, if we look back at the past, it can be noted that our country was among the first states that drew attention to the problems of animal welfare. It is known that the activities of the Russian Society for the Protection of Animals, created back in 1865, was aimed at establishing rules and laws prohibiting cruelty to animals and determining known punishments for this. The main goal of these actions is to develop in people feelings of compassion and mercy for animals, to instill sound concepts about the benefits and benefits, which promise only good care and saving of our smaller brothers.

In our time, October 4 - Animal Protection Day - nature lovers celebrate not by word but by deed. Especially mass events are held on this day, the main purpose of which is to instill in people a sense of responsibility for everything living on our planet and a call for nature conservation.

Humanitarian events are organized on Animal Day, drawing public attention to solving the problems of many homeless animals and protecting them from abuse, cold and hunger, and extermination. Real and urgent help is needed not only for stray, domestic animals and animals kept in the zoo, but also for representatives of the wild nature, and you should always remember this, and not just on Animal Day.

October 4 - Animal Protection Day

Ideas for protecting the rights of representatives of the animal kingdom are finding more and more adherents who are actively involved in the work of various councils and organizations in many countries of the world. In 1986, the Council of Europe adopted the Convention for the Protection of the Rights of Pets, developed in accordance with the principles of bioethics. This year, there are already 23 states that have ratified it. However, the tradition of celebrating Animal Day has taken root in many other countries of the world, now there are more than sixty of them.

Animal Day
Summing up the activities of mankind over the past centuries, scientists are forced to state the inconsistency of the existing principles of the relationship of people to the wild. Because of thoughtless and ruthless extermination, whole species of animals, billions of living creatures, have disappeared. Mankind will have to realize the fact that animals are precious in themselves, and not just those that are useful, and the sooner this happens, the better. In the end, as Professor Jean Dorst points out in his book Before Nature Dies, man has many objective reasons to strive to preserve the wildlife around him. The scientist claims that the animal world can be saved if people love him even for the fact that he is beautiful. Perhaps it is Animal Day that is designed to remind people of the importance of preserving the living creatures of nature around us.
