In the 90s, new universities began to appear in Russia in connection with the ongoing democratic transformations. One of them opened in Voronezh. It was called the Institute of Economics and Social Management (VIESU). Its exact year of foundation is 1995. This educational organization exists at the present time. The Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management was opened about 20 years ago by decision of the city and region administration. The association "Chernozemye" also advocated the creation of the university. They founded an educational organization for the sole purpose of training managerial personnel.

An educational institution has been developing for more than 20 years. Today it is a modern university that graduates qualified specialists who are well prepared for practical work. The Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management was able to achieve good results in its activities due to the availability of a decent material and technical base. It includes a library that stores more than 50 thousand books. The material technical base also includes equipped audiences. They have modern furniture, the necessary electronic equipment.

Teaching Staff

An important contribution to the development of the institute was made by the teaching staff. In it were always real professionals in their field. They shared their knowledge and practical skills with students, engaged in scientific activities and sought to attract students to it.

At the moment, the teaching staff of a higher educational institution consists of 80% of candidates and doctors of sciences, professors and associate professors. To conduct classes, leading practitioners of the city and region are additionally invited. They tell students the pressing problems that are now in municipal and state administration, economics, politics, psychology.

Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management: faculties

The educational organization has only 2 faculties:

1. Municipal and public administration. In this structural unit, specialists are trained for various structures. After graduation, students can work in municipal and state government bodies and hold the positions of political analysts.
2. Management and economics. This structural unit of a higher education institution graduates managers. Students here study many different economic and managerial disciplines. The acquired knowledge allows in the future to effectively manage organizations and determine the path for further development.

Department of secondary vocational education (STR)

Many universities, having introduced the ideas of the development of lifelong education, began to prepare not only specialists with higher education, but also middle-level personnel. The Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management was no exception. Having decided to implement open source software, the university created a special department responsible for student learning.

• social science - 42;
• biology - 36;
• stories - 32.

Students' opinions about the institution are diverse. Some are happy with everything. However, there are few reviews of such a plan. Most of the students speak negatively about the university due to the low quality of education and due to the fact that it is not interested in training qualified personnel at the Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management (VIESU).

Negative reviews were confirmed during an audit conducted by Rosobrnadzor in 2016. As a result, accreditation was suspended in 3 groups of directions (“Psychological Sciences”, “Management and Economics”, “Regional Studies and Political Sciences”).

In the spring of 2017, Rosobrnadzor removed the institution from control. The Voronezh Institute of Economics and Social Management eliminated all violations and continued to operate as before. Perhaps such an event in the history of the university will serve as an impetus to make the educational process more qualitative and effective.
