Injectors are necessary for the metered injection of fuel into the cylinders of a car engine. They are equipped with valves that spray it in the smallest phase, so their condition is very important. It affects the condition of the engine as a whole, which is why clogged and clogged equipment is unsuitable for operation. Regular flushing of the injector is a necessity that must be strictly observed.
The main quality indicators are the tightness of the injector, its throughput in working condition and the magnitude of the spray of fuel fluid. Entering the injector, the fuel must be mixed with air to obtain the greatest uniformity. Intensive mixing gives the mixture the ability to immediately flare up in the cylinder and release energy that can provide torque.
However, the problem lies in the fact that during operation on the injector body or near its shut-off device, deposits are accumulated and deposited, which violates the tightness, and as a result, even after the engine stops, fuel leaks through the open injector valves. There is only one way out of this situation - flushing the injector, otherwise the engine will start poorly even in a warmed state.
Dirty injector nozzles reduce its performance. The mixture entering the cylinder does not burn out completely, and when you press the gas pedal sharply, it forms strong pops, and also a lot more fuel is consumed during movement than is necessary. That is why even at a time when there are no pronounced signs of clogging of the injector, an increase in
fuel consumption is still observed
. This means that flushing the injector is necessary, because in the oxygen-depleted mixture the sensors detect a mismatch. The computer system understands this as a lack of fuel and sets a program to increase its consumption.
The reason for the clogging of injectors is usually gasoline. It always contains small suspended solids, albeit invisible in appearance, but quickly settling on the strainers. The smallest of them reach the nozzle of the injector and there, under the influence of high temperature, turn into carbon deposits. The gasoline pump pushes a new portion of fuel with force, and new particles of impurities penetrate the nozzle, increasing the amount of soot.
For minor impurities, one of the additives available on the market can be used. Additives are used as an injector cleaner. They are recommended for preventive purposes, for example, during a long trip by car. In order to flush the injector as little as possible, you should pay attention to the quality of the fuel being poured, do not forget to clean the filters in the gasoline pump and gasoline tank from accumulated sediments.
Modern service stations are equipped with stands, with which you can very quickly and accurately determine the condition of the injectors and, if necessary, immediately turn to specialists with a request to clean them. But our domestic motorists almost all are handymen and therefore it is preferable for them to clean the injector with their own hands than regular visits to the car service.
