Sometimes situations happen in our life when after a while the purchased item becomes unnecessary and you want to return it back to the seller. Not everyone knows how to properly exchange and return goods of appropriate quality. In such cases, one should resort to the help of Article 25 of the RF Law βOn the Protection of Consumer Rightsβ.
Reasons for returning and exchanging good quality goods
Suppose you purchased a
non-food item, such as a wardrobe of excellent quality, but for some reason it does not suit you. In our case,
the wardrobe can be wider than the niche provided for its installation by a few centimeters - you understood this at home, having collected all the details of the wardrobe and trying to βshove itβ. That is, it does not fit you in
size, dimensions and shape. In this case, you have all rights in order to return the goods of good quality. To do this, give the product its original appearance. In the case of a wardrobe - disassemble it, put the parts in a box and make sure their integrity. In addition, it is necessary to take a cash
(goods) check. In the absence (loss) of the check, the return of the goods of good quality is a little complicated, instead you can use the testimony of people who were present when buying the goods (friends, acquaintances, relatives).

It should be remembered that the return of goods of good quality is possible only within two weeks from the date of purchase (14 days), the day of purchase is not included in this period. That is, having bought the goods on 05/18/2013 (the day of purchase), you can exchange it on any day (until 01/01/13). Weekends store employees will not take into account. Therefore, if it happened that you arrived on 06/03/13, and you didnβt accept the goods, referring to the weekend, you will have to prove in court that you will comply with the deadline for the return or exchange of the purchased item, which will undoubtedly take your arguments into account. But, despite this, it is recommended to come to the store several days earlier than after waiting for a court decision for several months.
Who should I contact in the store if I have to return a good quality product or exchange it?
To get started, go and see another similar product. Then go to the seller and kindly ask him to replace the goods, explaining the situation. When you are offered another cabinet, specify its dimensions, and if everything suits you, write in two copies a statement requesting an exchange of goods (addressed to the director of the outlet). The statement must indicate what goods you returned and which ones you ask for in return, sign it and be sure to indicate the date of signing the document. The store employee must indicate their details in full (full name and position), indicate that he has received the goods from you, write down his characteristics and put a list. If the selected product will be more expensive than the previous one, try to agree on a surcharge of the difference with the seller.

If, returning to the store, you did not find the products for which you could exchange the goods (for example, cabinets of the required dimensions were sold), you need to transfer the goods to the seller for signature. Then you should write a statement stating your request for the return of funds paid for the goods no later than three days (starting from the date of return).
If the seller refuses to change the goods or accept them back, you can contact the store administrator. If you were refused there, send a written application to the store by mail, where you ask for clarification of the time and date when you should come to the store to return or exchange goods. If you still have not received a response from the store, immediately file a lawsuit against the store or the entrepreneur in court.
Before contacting the store, it is worth considering that there is a list of non-exchangeable and returnable goods. Such goods, according to the provisions of Decree of January 19, 1988 No. 55 of the Government of the Russian Federation, include: jewelry, household chemical goods, books, cosmetics and perfumes, and some others.
