Traditional and rare booklets

The booklet is a valuable advertising tool, the first peak of popularity of which came in the nineteenth century. This is a printing product, representing a sheet folded several times. Previously, on the spreads of such a sheet, mainly guidebooks and theater programs were printed. Now advertising on paper spreads is undergoing a real renaissance, so all types of booklets, classic and only recently emerged, are considered in detail.

Classical

Typically, a booklet is represented by an A4 sheet having two parallel folds (fold). The main informative and emotional message is placed on the first spread, more detailed information is laid out on the remaining four, and the last, back field, may not be used at all.

By purpose booklets are divided into:

  • image;
  • handouts.

Image types of advertising booklets are intended to represent a brand or a company. Their design and manufacture require increased material investments and good developer skills. This is an expensive small-scale product.

Handout types of booklets carry information about promotions or updates. With their help, you need to inform as many people as possible. The requirements for handouts are different: saving on paper and printing quality is acceptable, the level of design skill may not be the highest. The problem of maximum coverage of the target audience is being solved.

The information load on the booklet should be insignificant: a minimum of words, only a large print and contrasting, catchy images. Neglect of these principles will force the consumer to quickly send ads to the ballot box without even looking.

How classic is transformed

Standard types of booklets are familiar and conservative, this is their strength. But advertisers and consumers are constantly attracted by the new. The requirements for the content of the booklet remain unchanged. Advertisers have been working on the form for a long time and intensively. It’s easiest to modify the classics using other types of booklet folding:

  • book;
  • snail;
  • gate;
  • harmonic.

The sheet is folded in half (one fold), forming a "book". Less common is the β€œsnail” - it has three folds, all directed in one direction, and the sheet is unwound like a bandage. The "gate" has two or three folds, side turns open a wide internal field, like the casement of a window. An accordion may have from two to six folds alternately directed in opposite directions. All of these types of booklets are easy to manufacture. They can be seen, for example, in food delivery advertisements.

How to fold the booklet

Second level of difficulty

Less commonly used and more difficult are booklets with perpendicular folding. The sheet bends several times, and the folds are always laid in perpendicular directions. It is believed that deploying such a booklet is not very convenient, but everything that is rarely used seems original.

E-booklets look even more original. They are examined from the monitor screen, and, if necessary, displayed on paper. Many programs have been invented to create virtual booklets, the most famous of which are Photoshop and Publisher. Many use the democratic Word for this.

Accordion Booklet

The most enchanting booklets in electronic form are created by professionals using 3D graphics. At the same time, the result of the geometric design of three-dimensional images is displayed on the screen plane. The volumetric visualization obtained on the plane seems fantastic, therefore, the funds invested in such advertising work with good return.

Booklet as a gift

So far not particularly common, but 3D souvenir booklets are increasingly appearing. They should be examined with the help of glasses that are offered with the product. Printing features and the "load" in the form of glasses make advertising expensive, therefore it is offered targeted, hand-to-hand, at conferences or exhibition events.

At the highest evolutionary stage are the design types of booklets. They are printed on good thick paper or thin cardboard. Print quality is only excellent. Developers usually go from the initial A4 size.

design booklet

The blank is cut in a special way, the direction of the folds is thought out so that a unique advertising product is obtained that has only a distant resemblance to the traditional booklet.

It is not easy to send such a booklet to the basket - manufacturers do everything to make it perceive as a gift.
