In modern society, people can love each other, but they don’t need to marry. Increasingly, there are cases when even children are born in a civil marriage, that is, in fact, with partners. And in such conditions, the question of why a family is needed arises more than acutely. It's time to sort this out and see if the institution of the family is really out of date? It has already been said above that children in modern society often give birth outside the family, being limited to civil marriage. However, this does not mean that children cannot serve as the reason for creating a family. In this case, however, there are two sides to the coin. If we take the negative side, then it is worth considering those cases when the family is created due to the appearance of the child. Unfortunately, such cases happen very often: a guy and a girl have a baby, and therefore they urgently get married so that he grows up in a full-fledged family. Yes, it is worth noting that it is possible to have a child without a family, but it definitely doesn’t differ in convenience, since one of the parents, in fact, has absolutely no rights to this child, that is, they have only a genetic connection.
It's time to consider the positive side of the coin. Many people who are in a serious relationship want to have children. And they decide to start a family to facilitate this process, as well as provide the child with a full, prosperous future.

Another reason, which is very important, is integration into modern society. The fact is that everyone has the right to choose - live in a civil marriage, just meet for a lifetime or get married. However, when it comes to social details, marriage wins in all respects. Take even the simplest example: if one of the spouses goes to the hospital, then only close relatives will be allowed to see him. And the first on this list will be another spouse. However, if there is no official marriage between you, then you don’t have to be your beloved person at all, respectively, you have no right to visit him in the hospital. And this applies to absolutely all areas: you cannot submit and take documents, you cannot officially vouch for a person, and so on. In general, modern society, although it does not force people to marry, as it was before, but it is built in such a way that the family remains its main unit.

It is not known at what exactly stage of the development of mankind the family appeared. Scientists have been arguing about this for more than a decade, and they are also discussing why such a social unit appeared. However, everyone knows that in all ages people have united in families to continue the race. Most of the family history has been exclusively patriarchal, but recently strict standards have begun to weaken and the family has become a much freer term.
