For both the average user and the professional player, the question of the usability of their equipment is very important. When it comes to a computer mouse, setting it up properly is very important. Precisely how to do this will be discussed in this article.
How to enter the settings menu
So, before you learn how to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse, you need to find the corresponding item in the computer settings menu. To do this, open the “Start” menu, select the tab under the name “Control Panel” in its right menu and select the icon with the image of a computer mouse with the inscription “Mouse” next to it in the window that opens.
If, by default, the tab with all the elements of the control panel does not open, do not despair. In the standard menu of the control panel you need to select the subsection “Hardware and Sound”. In the new window that opens, in the “Devices and Printers” tab, click on the word “Mouse” highlighted in blue.
There is also another way to get to the mouse sensitivity settings menu. As before, to do this, open the Start menu and then type the word “Mouse” in the search bar. In the list with the search results, you need to select the field of the same name - usually it appears at the very top of the resulting list.
How to properly adjust mouse sensitivity
One way or another, having reached the point of setting the sensitivity of the device, you can proceed to the direct adjustment of its characteristics to your specific needs. In the mouse properties window, you can configure not only the sensitivity of the mouse response, but also the sensitivity of its buttons, and even the wheel. But first things first.
How to adjust mouse sensitivity? To do this, open the “Index Settings” tab and in the “Move” item move the slider forward if you want to accelerate the cursor on the screen, or backward if you need to slow it down. To check the indicators, you need to move the cursor to the bottom of the window and click on the “Apply” button, after which the new settings will take effect. If the new cursor sensitivity seems uncomfortable to you, you are free to change it as many times as you need for the most accurate settings.
Additional settings
In addition to the sensitivity of the cursor, there are several indicators that will directly depend on the convenience with which you will operate your mouse. It is about the speed of double-clicking and the sensitivity of the scroll wheel of the mouse. How to adjust the sensitivity of these buttons? Everything is quite simple.
To configure a double-click, just go to the “Mouse buttons” tab and in the second section move the slider to one of two sides. In the event that you move the cursor to the right, to double-click and open a folder or program, you have to double-click the mouse for a shorter period of time, if to the right, double-clicking is slower.
The wheel is configured in a separate mouse settings tab of the same name. There are only two subparagraphs responsible for the vertical and horizontal movement of the wheel. And if horizontal scrolling is not supported by all types of computer mice, then vertical is present in all. Therefore, it is very important to configure it correctly. In the section with vertical scrolling settings, you can set the number of lines that will be scrolled in one motion. The larger it is, the faster you will scroll through documents or pages, the smaller - the slower.
Configure Mouse Drivers
Among other things, there is another kind of setting, which is more common for modern manipulators, mainly gaming. In such devices, there is its own microcontroller that remembers all the settings of the mouse and stores them in itself throughout the entire life cycle. Then the question arises: how to adjust the sensitivity of a Bloody, A4tech or other mouse belonging to the gaming class? Everything is very simple. For such a class of mice, the manufacturer develops specialized software that is either attached with the mouse or downloaded by the buyer from the company's official website. All indicators are manually entered into the resulting program, after which the device will remember them until the next change.
