Ufa is a magnificent city with many opportunities. There are many wonderful and interesting places for tourists to visit. It is rich in various liturgical places - churches, temples, which majestically rise against the blue sky. Some of them will be described below.
Church of the Virgin in Ufa
The Cathedral Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin is located in the Kirovsky district of the city. It is very spacious: several thousand visitors can be there at the same time. The Temple of the Nativity in Ufa is dressed in sky blue and decorated with gold domes. Floor, walls are made of different stones - Italian, Greek, Pakistani. To date, the building has been reconstructed 4 times.
The church was first built in 1889 (according to some sources in 1901) at the initiative of Bishop Anthony. Ufa merchant Nikifor Patokin helped speed up the construction by donating a certain amount of money. The temple was made of brick, the floors were made of asphalt with cemented edges. In 1909, which is considered the year the church was completed, consecration was carried out.
The building also served as a hospital in 1919 after the revolution, but retained its coordinated functions.
From 1955 to 1991 it was decided to remodel the Virgin’s temple into a cinema, as a result of which most of the building was destroyed.
Since 1991, it has again functioned as an Orthodox church. Moreover, an update was made, after which the temple looked even better. The reconstruction lasted a long 15 years.
At the moment, there is a schedule of the temple of Ufa for visitors. According to him, the church is located on Kirova street, 102, and accepts everyone from 07:00 to 18:30 without a break and a weekend.
Holy Cross Exaltation Church
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is located in a residential area of Ufa - Nizhny Novgorod, near the platform "Right White". The temple is made in Russian wooden style. It consists of seven domes and has a white color.
To build a temple was the idea of the Ufa merchant Trofim Kozlov, who planned to do it on his own money. He managed to get permission for this. Already in 1892 the construction of the Ufa temple began, and a year later it was completed and the building was consecrated.
After 10 years, the temple was decided to expand, as a result of which it became a three-altered. After 1937, he barely escaped demolition and ceased to exist. It was used as a warehouse. Divine services were resumed only during the Great Patriotic War.
Currently, the temple of Ufa accepts everyone from 8:30 to 17:00, at the address: Lesopilnaya street, 2.
Church of the Intercession
Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the oldest buildings in the city of Ufa. Made in the style of Russian classicism. It is located on the street Mingazheva, 4.
The first construction of the church began in 1617. Then it was made of wood and has not survived to this day. The current building was built from stones by a merchant Zhulyabin. The foundation year of the temple of Ufa is considered to be 1817, so it was then that it was consecrated by the bishops.
In 1941, the church was closed and used as a pharmacy warehouse. In 1957, after the end of World War II, the church again became a place for worship.
Spassky temple of Ufa
The Orthodox Church is located in the Kirovsky district of the city on October Revolution Street, 39. Visitors at the entrance are greeted by a small tablet with years of church functioning, written in three languages: Russian, Bashkir, English. At the moment, this temple of Ufa is a cultural heritage and is under state protection.
In 1824, the Spasskaya Church was founded. However, it acted only until 1844, after which it was destroyed. At the same place they built the Spassky Church, which has survived to our time. In 1929, the building served as a studio for film distribution. It became an object for worship only in 2004. Then it was called an object of cultural heritage, which was officially documented by the government. In 2005, the church decided to reconstruct. Construction work is still underway.
The building has a rehabilitation center for drug addicts, a sobriety society, a center for the provision of psychological assistance to the family as a whole or to the child separately, and even a Sunday school (for both adults and children).
The church also provided an opportunity for people to watch the services held in the temple live on the Internet.
