Teeth Whitener. How to choose?

Many pleasant things - coffee several times a day, oriental sweets, red wine and maybe a cigarette, unfortunately, contribute to darkening of the teeth, they lose their former whiteness. Of course, teeth turn yellow far from one week. But still smile! To return your radiant and snow-white smile, you need not so much: money, time and tooth whitener.

There are three ways to restore teeth to their former brightness:

• mechanical (abrasive material cleans plaque from the tooth) ;

• chemical (plaque changes color or dissolves under the influence of chemicals);

• internal (the dentist fills the tooth with white “resin”).

The techniques based on these methods are the greatest. Be patient - read the article to the end, or better yet, visit the dentist: he will tell you what is right for you.

First, let's try to understand the pros and cons of mechanical methods. These include the following tooth whiteners: soda, special toothpastes, Airflow, scaler.

Soda simply needs to be rubbed into the teeth (with a brush or even with a finger). It is a large abrasive that allows you to remove soft plaque on the teeth and even ingrained pigment (for example, from coffee) with daily use for 10 days. Differs in very low price, however already at the first application enamel damage is possible.

Teeth whitening toothpaste does not require an additional waste of time: you just brush your teeth, as usual. Despite the presence of soda in its composition, emollients make it less traumatic, but the effect becomes noticeable much later, only after 4 weeks of regular use. In addition, stubborn pigments are not removed.

Airflow teeth bleach is used by dentists. It is sprayed using a special apparatus: the effect is achieved quickly, but short-term, since the cleansed pores get clogged up very quickly again.

A tooth whitener such as a scaler uses ultrasound to remove soft plaque and tartar. This method is the most effective: your smile will be snow-white. However, the scaler has one significant minus - enamel sensitivity is greatly increased.

The most common chemical methods are the use of whitening gels and mouthguards.

A special gel must be applied to the teeth without affecting the gums and lips, then smile for a couple of minutes (teeth whitener should remain only on the teeth). Chemicals destroy pigments and yellowness disappears. The method is very simple, affordable. After a week, the effect becomes noticeable. But with its use it is impossible to evenly whiten the teeth. In addition, there are a number of contraindications, therefore, a dentist consultation is required.

When using mouthguards, the principle of operation is the same. Kappa is a plastic case made by casting your teeth, which lengthens the effect of the product on the teeth, significantly reducing the likelihood of burning your lips and gums. The production of such an impression will take a week, the course of treatment is 3 weeks.

Internal whitening is also widely used, but, in fact, this is not whitening, but a kind of tooth shading. How is it carried out? An opening of the tooth cavity is performed, the darkened tooth tissue is removed, and the tooth is filled with “resin” with dyes. At the present stage, in order to whiten a “dead” tooth, only this technique is applicable. Unfortunately, this tooth often turns out to be very fragile: it can break or collapse during resin injection.
Only an experienced dentist can choose the tooth whitener that is necessary for you, so turn to him for a consultation and shine with an irresistible snow-white smile!
