Guitarist Carl Logan Arrested and Will Not Take Part in World Tour

Former guitarist of the famous American metal band Manowar ("Manovar") Karl Logan was arrested on August 9, 2018 on charges of possession of child pornography. In this regard, his further participation in the group was impossible.

Arrest

An arrest warrant for a 53-year-old musician was issued by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff in August. Heavy metal was accused of six cases of sexual exploitation of a minor of the third degree. The musician was taken into custody in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The amount of the deposit amounted to 35 thousand dollars. After the payment, Karl Logan was released from prison, but he has no right to leave the country. His lawyers are preparing for court hearings. Information about the arrest appeared on the Web after the personal request of one of the journalists.

The arrest warrant

According to the North Carolina News Channel, the episodes accused of Karl Logan took place between June 18 and August 2, 2018. On the channel’s website, information appeared that the musician was accused of storing a detailed video with the participation of girls from 4 to 12 years old, involved in various sexual acts by men.

North Carolina law states that a third-degree juvenile is sexually exploited if “a person who, knowing the nature or content, has material that contains a visual representation of a minor involved in sexual activity.”

World tour

In 2017, the “loudest group in the world” Manovar set off on a farewell world tour. Fans were worried that the incident with the guitarist would interrupt this triumphal journey, but team members on social networks said that despite the arrest of Karl Logan, the tour would continue, without Logan.

The new album, in the recording of which the guitarist will also not take part, will be released at the scheduled time. Journalists tried to contact the official representative of the group for comments, but in the middle of a world tour it was almost impossible.

The group has scheduled nine concerts in Russia in 2019. Fans of the group in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Khabarovsk, Samara and Vladivostok are looking forward to a grand show from the group listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

Farewell tour

Heavy Metal Monsters

Knights of genuine metal, Manovar, was born in 1980 behind the curtains of a Black Sabbath concert in England when guitarist Ross Friedman, nicknamed Boss, and bassist Joe DiMaillot agreed to create a new band. Eric "Adams" (Luis Marullo according to the documents) became the "voice" of the new group (and remains to this day), and Karl Kenedy sat down for the drums.

For almost forty years, the composition of the group has changed. Drummers came and went. Ross Friedman was replaced by David Schenkl, who was then succeeded by Karl Logan. Fans are still arguing whose game is better: classic Ross-Boss metal or neo-metal Logan with virtuoso solos.

The group released twelve studio albums and fifteen singles. Each of them was a hymn to the true metal, which throughout the whole existence was sung by the group, not recognizing other variations. By the way, it was because of this that Friedman once left, who wanted to play a more blues version of rock. But Manovar survived the change of moods and tastes of the public many times, and, remaining faithful to their style, the musicians always returned to the stage with new songs, melodies and energy.

Former guitarist

Carl Logan is the stage name for the American guitarist Carl Modjalescu. Logan was born on April 28, 1965 in Carbondale, PA. After graduating from school, Karl studied music a lot, was a member of a local group of teenagers. Subsequently, he happened to work with the band Arc Angel and Fallen Angels.

He got into Manovar in 1994, when he met Joe DiMayo, practically moving him to his Harley. Logan is generally known for his love of motorcycles and dirt racing. Fans also know Carl as the person who most often gives interviews. In 2009, he even gave individual guitar lessons on Skype. He released a line of guitars that were sold on the band's official website. If not for the August accusations, Karl Logan could successfully continue his musical career even after the farewell tour of Manovar.

But under American law, the possession and dissemination of child pornography is a serious crime, and the prosecution will ruin the reputation of a star of any scale. Even the king of pop, Michael Jackson did not escape the terrible accusations after his death.

Former Manovar guitarist David Shankle on his Facebook page said he was ready to go on a world tour with the band.
