Ivanovo is a city in the European part of Russia, historically considered a city of brides. In the recent past, the largest textile factories were located here, which successfully went bankrupt with the collapse of the USSR. Today, the city has little to be proud of, except perhaps good educational institutions. One of the best in the city and country is considered the Institute of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergencies in Ivanovo.
Foundation History
After the reform of the Emergency Situations system, the prestige of service in the ranks of the Ministry of Emergencies has increased significantly. The history of the institute dates back to September 1966. Then, a fire school was formed on the basis of the paramilitary fire department. Within 5 years, the main buildings were rebuilt: a dormitory, a training building, a sports arena and other related buildings.

Today, the Institute of Emergencies in Ivanovo is one of the largest and most powerful educational institutions in Russia. Here 3800 cadets can study at the same time, since there have never been problems in the shortage of students. Male and female graduates come here from all over Russia to receive a prestigious education.
Training is conducted by about 70 employees of various qualifications. In addition to specialized academic disciplines, they teach the Russian language, philosophy, mathematics and some narrow humanities. The Institute boasts the presence of 31 Doctors of Sciences.

Young cadets are often involved in community and rescue work. So, in 2010, when the entire Ivanovo region suffered from fires, students went to the forests, dug in villages, and saved people. Emergencies Ministry students are often attracted during natural disasters: to eliminate the effects of a flood or snowfall. So, in 2016, the Institute’s staff in the amount of 116 people was transferred to the Vologda Oblast, where there was a major flood.
Innovation
The Institute of the Ministry of Emergencies of the city of Ivanovo is actively involved in research activities in its profile. The development of innovations is aimed at developing the legislative, legal and methodological framework in the field of civil defense. In addition, new technological methods and means of counteracting natural and man-made disasters are developed annually.
First of all, research is aimed at finding methods to prevent fire hazard. That is, it is right to convey the fire safety rules to ordinary people through the Internet, social advertising, visual aids. Teachers and students regularly give lectures in educational institutions of the city.

Scandals
Like many prestigious educational institutions in Russia, the Institute of Emergencies in Ivanovo did not go around scandalous stories.
