The Institute of Arts and Culture in Volgograd is a unique institution of higher education. It, in addition to the university, includes a school, a children's school. School History
The year of foundation of the university is considered the 1999th. At this time, the Volgograd State Institute of Arts and Culture began to function. However, its history began several decades earlier. In the late 40s of the last century, a school was opened in Uryupinsk, the aim of which was to train workers for cultural and educational institutions.
After about 9 years, the school was closed. People studying at the school were transferred to a similar school in Stalingrad (modern Volgograd). Later this educational institution became a school, and in 1992 - a branch of the Samara Academy of Culture and Arts. In 1999, the university ceased to be a branch. He became an independent educational organization.

The structure of a higher educational institution also includes a branch - a college of art. Its location is the city of Kamyshin (Volgograd region). Previously, this educational institution was considered independent, but in 2013 it was merged with the institute in Volgograd.
Faculty of Art
This structural unit at the Volgograd Institute of Arts and Culture is quite young. The year of its foundation is 2010. The faculty is engaged in the training of talented and gifted personalities in artistic fields and specialties. Graduates work in theaters and other institutions related to art and culture.
The division of art, which has the Volgograd State Institute of Arts and Culture, consists of several departments:

After completing their studies, they again enter the educational institution to receive secondary specialized or higher education.

Faculty of cultural and social activities
This structural unit has been operating since 1992. One of its components is the department of cultural and social activity, which provides training in the same areas of training. It is interesting to study here, because while studying, students participate in the organization of cultural and social programs, charity events.
There are also departments of information and library activities, foreign languages, history, philosophy, the theory of art and culture, psychology and pedagogy. Faculty of correspondence department

Regarding preparatory courses, it is worth noting that they are conducted in those subjects and tests that are set as entrance exams. Their duration is determined by the program and the wishes of applicants. Attention also deserves the following area of activity - professional retraining and advanced training. These services are provided to art and cultural workers. There is no longer an institution in the region that would offer such a thing.
