The greatest invention of humanity is considered to be a computer. Without it, it is impossible to imagine modern life. Previously, only specialists worked on electronic computers, and now many computer programs (games) are available to preschool children.
Using a computer, they solve complex production problems, type texts, make presentations and slide shows, send letters, communicate on social networks, process graphic images, and simulate various processes. Employees of the IT sector are constantly improving existing software products and creating new ones. In honor of these wonderful people, at least an unofficial, but still a holiday, was established - Computer Day.
Origin of important date
Everyone involved in programming, web design, system administration, and other computer-related activities is congratulated on February 14th. It is believed that the first working computer appeared on this day, although attempts to create a “calculating machine” were made earlier.
Half a century ago, US military personnel demonstrated a device called Electrical Numerical Integrator And Calculator, abbreviated ENIAC I. Before the advent of the machine, complex strategic calculations were made by people. However, as technological progress developed, a person could no longer cope with a large number of complex calculations. Then it was decided to construct such an apparatus that would carry out strategic calculations in seconds, which was entrusted to specialists in electronics and cybernetics.
The world's first computer was very bulky, occupying the entire space of a large room. But even on such a device, it was possible to perform complex calculations in a short time. An impressive result was the modeling of weapons of the greatest destructive power. The calculations were carried out in accordance with the Ullam-Teller hypothesis.
Computer Day Today
Since computers are spread all over the world, this holiday is relevant for many people on the planet. In Russia, February 14, Computer Day, is an unofficial date, but since the merits of IT specialists are recognized at the state level, since 2009, Russia has officially celebrated Programmer's Day. To determine the date of the holiday, we took the number of integers expressed in one byte. Since most computers use a binary system, the day was also determined by the number of degrees of the number 2, a value less than 365. As a result of the calculations, Russian programmers began to be honored on September 13 or a day earlier if the year was a leap year.
As the Day of computer and programmer
All those involved in computer work, as well as students and teachers of relevant educational institutions, take part in the festivities. In offices or catering premises, tables are set up, artists and hosts are invited. An integral attribute of the holiday is a cake with a company logo or inscription related to the world of computer technology. The corresponding symbolism or just the inscription “February 14 - Computer Day” is applied to souvenirs: mugs, pens, cups, T-shirts, notebooks.
Large enterprises of the industry hold conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and give lectures. Scientists and employees of the companies report on the latest in computer technology, information technology development trends, share work experience, test new equipment. Especially for this day, publications in specialized publications are being prepared.
Despite the significant contribution of programmers to the development of the national economy, in Russia this holiday has not yet become popular, but in the West, World Computer Day is celebrated on an unprecedented scale.

This gadget is similar to a tablet, but differs in that it converts text to photo format and translates letters written on paper into electronic form. It is enough for the user to attach a sheet of paper with an inscription to the screen of the notebook and, after some time, the text will be in the memory of the digital device.
