In the Russian Federation in 1992, a wonderful tradition appeared - on October 1, annually give a holiday to the elderly. Throughout our vast country, people are celebrating Senior Generation Day.
Officially, this holiday is called the Day of the Elderly , but not everyone likes this name. When the street is warm enough, all activities can be carried out in the fresh air - in the courtyard of the house or in nature. If you are planning a noisy and funny celebration, then you should invite all your relatives, friends, friends and just neighbors to it who have already celebrated their 50th anniversary. Such a competition on the day of the older generation will become much more interesting if the participants select a song not by name, but simply choose one of the categories. To do this, you need to select several songs in advance and divide them into groups. Each of them should have 3-4 hits. For example, there may be such categories:

- songs of the war years;
- modern hit;
- hits of the 80s, etc.
The best performers can be handed a set of DVDs. Subjects of disks should coincide with subjects of categories.

We select several participants and invite them to play in an unusual burim. The leader of the holiday should name four rhyming words. The task of the players is to make the funniest rhyme with them. They will be evaluated, of course, by members of the jury. This competition can even be held in several stages. After each of them, one of the participants leaves.
Since this is still the day of people of the older generation, brought up on the classics, a volume of foreign or Russian poetry can become a gift to the winner.
Concert numbers
Our contestants must definitely rest periodically, and the jury will not be bothered by a respite. Therefore, after two or three contests, we offer them a children's dance number, songs and poems from their beloved grandchildren, funny stories, etc. Such rooms, in strict confidence from grandparents, are prepared in advance.

Funny games and competitions on the Day of the older generation will not only cheer up everyone present, but also help them to feel a little freer and more relaxed.
You can offer guests such entertainment - two participants (preferably a married couple), who had previously been blindfolded with dark shawls, should try to feed each other with biscuit cakes.
Also, couples will be interested to take part in the competition for the knowledge of their soulmate. First, husbands leave the room (they should not hear answers), and the presenter asks the wives different questions. You can ask about anything! About the color of her favorite socks or about in which corner of the globe she would dream to visit. However, questions should be neutral. Do not forget that in fact this holiday is a day of respect for the older generation, so it’s still worth confusing older people with too frank questions.
Then the "second halves" return to the hall and give answers to questions previously asked to their spouses. Points are credited to the husband who gives the same answer as his wife. Encourage a small gift is worth every married couple. But the spouses who scored the most points can be rewarded with some significant gift. It is desirable that he be associated with the theme of love and fidelity.
Separately, you can conduct a comic survey. Members of one family should take the age of each of them (only those who are present at the holiday), add up all the numbers and tell the host the resulting amount. The family with the highest number will be awarded.
Love and care are the main gift
On the day of the older generation, do not forget about your grandparents. After all, they love you with all their heart and always sincerely rejoice in your concern. If you are far away, at least call your relatives and find a couple of warm and affectionate words for them.
Grandchildren, if they are small, can make a gift with their own hands. Our elderly parents and grandparents value such things even more than expensive presentations.
