The Russian Academy of Justice (RAP) is an educational institution founded by presidential decree No. 528 in 1998. The functions of the founder are performed by the Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Courts of the Russian Federation.
Targets and goals
Universities previously did not provide specialized training for the judiciary. The formation of civil society requires the expansion of the role of judicial protection in terms of the rights and freedoms of people, the effective fight against the manifestation of extremism, terrorism and crime. Only professionals are able to effectively manage the judicial system. To train specialists with specialized legal education , a specialized educational scientific institution was created. There are no analogues of RAP justice. The concept of the academy is that the future judge should begin to improve professional skills as early as possible, be able to correctly apply knowledge, and cultivate the necessary personal qualities in himself.

The level of education
RAP - the Academy of Justice - has already gained the status of a prestigious educational institution, standing on a par with Moscow State University, Moscow State Law Academy and other institutions. Anticipating the importance of specialized education, the founders sent a powerful teaching staff to the academy. Most workers have practical experience in state authorities, courts, are leading economists, scientists, lawyers.
Educational process
The Academy has 7 faculties and 23 departments. The main areas of study: economics, finance, law, management, retraining of judges, advanced training, military department, physical education, philosophy and social-humanitarian, general subjects, foreign languages, computer science and mathematics.
More than 17,000 students study at the academy. Training is carried out on a budgetary and contractual basis. RAP Justice invites applicants to modern training programs, including the preparation of bachelors in the areas of jurisprudence and management. Masters of law are also being trained in the areas that are in demand: for judicial work on the resolution of economic disputes, corporate lawyers, lawyers for budget and financial law and taxation.
Additional features
For convenience, a portal has been created where, at any time, students can study teaching and methodological materials online. The portal allows you to send written works, view reviews on them, see grades made by teachers of the RAP of Justice. The official website of the Academy: raj.ru.
Full-time students are granted a deferment from military service. After training at the military department , enrollment is made with the assignment of the officer rank of “Lieutenant of Justice”.
College students have two types of scholarships - academic and social. They are paid only to students studying on a budgetary basis. Academic scholarship is awarded based on the results of the winter and summer sessions. This scholarship is awarded to students who have completed the semester with “good” and “excellent”.
The international cooperation
RAP Justice actively and productively collaborates with Russian and foreign universities. Students can master an additional international program: distance learning at the Moscow branch with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in law from the University of London. Specialists of international legal specialization are trained here who are capable of conducting paperwork in two foreign languages. The RAP team is a multiple winner of international law competitions. Philip Jesop - one of the most prestigious in the world.
Practice
Particular attention is paid to the acquisition by students of practical activity skills. Students practice in the courts, the bar, the judiciary, the notaries, the prosecutor’s office under the supervision of teachers-leaders of the practice.
There is an opportunity to work in the Academy's legal clinic, where students under the guidance of teachers-curators provide free legal advice to vulnerable groups of citizens.
Social work
The academy has an active student theater, KVN, vocal and dance studios. The annual constellation contest is held among Russian affiliates, and the Femida newspaper of the RAA Justice is published.
Employment
After the end of the RAP, there is the possibility of continuing studies in graduate school in 11 scientific specialties with a degree. Today, thousands of graduates successfully work in the judicial system, government, in large companies. More than 80 graduates work in the Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Courts of the Russian Federation.
A specialized employment service has been created to help graduates find jobs, so 90% of young professionals work in their specialty. Directly in the judicial system - 27%. There is a mutual aid club for graduates.
RAP Justice: reviews
According to reviews, the level of training at the academy is very high. Much attention is paid to educational (profile lectures), production (in state institutions), and undergraduate practice. Many students are impressed by the opportunity to study remotely at London's Royal College, so special attention is paid to in-depth study of languages. In contrast to the rich curriculum, many entertainment events, creative contests, a visit to a nightclub at the expense of the academy once a month are organized. You can pay for tuition once for the whole year (the cost in the contract is fixed for the entire period of study) or 2 times (per semester).
