The path of believers is a way to reduce sinful acts, and the concept of âtake your crossâ means to carry on a continuous struggle with bad character traits. So says and thinks, the abbot of the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh located in Moscow, Father Alexander.
Archpriest Alexander Abramov. Biography
Alexander Abramov was born on July 9, 1973 in Moscow. Parents were not believers, so their son was not raised in the spirit of faith. After graduating from high school with a silver medal , Alexander first entered the Moscow State University at the Faculty of History, as he seriously became interested in history and the scientific approach to it. From 1995-1998, the young man studied at the graduate school of the same faculty. In the future, the knowledge gained at the university served as the basis for his activities in the bosom of the church.
In 2000, the future archpriest Alexander Abramov committed a decisive act, enrolling in the Moscow Theological Seminary, and a year later - in the Theological Academy. At the end, he was ordained a deacon and then a priest.
Father Alexander, in addition to serving in the church, taught moral theology, served in the Department for External Church Relations, was a clergyman of the Nikolaev Patriarchal Cathedral from 2003 to 2005.
Archpriest Alexander Abramov. Books
The book âResurrection of Christ, having seenâ of Alexanderâs father was written especially for those who, for good reason, cannot attend the liturgy from beginning to end, who come to the church at the end to the âarticle of faithâ or to âour Fatherâ, and leave immediately after the sacrament and canât even listen to the priestâs sermons.
Archpriest Alexander Abramovâs book contains Gospel readings of the calendar year. In addition, it explains the events dear to the heart that occurred more than two thousand years ago. Father Alexander considers Sunday to be Easter, and the Gospel and Apostolic readings, gradually, week after week, lead to an understanding of the Gospel itself.
"Spring of our hope"
In addition to this book, another edition of Archpriest Alexander Abramov's âSpring of Our Hopeâ was published. In the book, the priest describes every day of Great Lent, or, as is customary to say, "Great Four of Pentecost."
What does this or that day mean in fasting, how to spend it, what can be introduced into your diet, and what is strictly forbidden? About all this in the form of a conversation printed in the publication.
The book gives an understanding of the post itself, what is the meaning of this, because fasting is not an ordinary diet for weight loss. These days, all believers should be doubly attentive to their lives, observe the movements of the soul, and correct, with the help of confession and communion, sinful impulses and passions. Fasting is a time of grace for the soul, and it is undesirable to break it (without a good reason).
Archpriest Alexander Abramov, addressing the reader, helps fill the inner world with spiritual meaning and otherwise look at the outer world, repent of sins in true humility, and then greet Easter with joy and a light heart.
"Bright evening"
Leading radio "Vera" often invite Father Alexander to conversations in which they raise questions on relevant topics. For example, recently there was a conversation on the topic âRelations with loved onesâ, why native people become targets for attacks, how to build relationships with them, and so on. Archpriest Alexander Abramov considers the model of aggressive behavior to relatives unacceptable and gives an example of how parents and children communicated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. How much mutual respect and genuine interest in the problems of both parents and children was between them, moreover, the parents tried to sincerely listen and give advice to the inexperienced offspring.
There was another interesting conversation between the priest and the host A. Pichugin on the topic of conviction. In fact, the sin of condemnation is so firmly entrenched in the life of people that many do not even notice it. They condemn walking, just like that, for the sake of a red word.
Apart from serious violations of religious precepts, many cannot live without condemnation or justify their own behavior, saying that they are simply reasoning. Father Alexander gives excellent advice, taken from the Gospel, to those who want to get rid of this sin - by what measure you judge a person, by the same measure you will be condemned. Therefore, severity in this case plays against the person.
Archpriest Alexander is a prominent public figure, so his opinion is especially important for parishioners. The purpose of life, the priest believes, is love for God and neighbor, and Jesus Christ is true love.
