Agree, I sometimes want to complement my interior with something original, but at the same time not to waste money! Let's try to do this with the kitchen shelf on the wall. This exclusive retro-style interior item will be made from an old drawer and, partially preserving its brutal look, will fit perfectly into almost any interior.
Making shelves on the wall with your own hands
For work, we need an old box, a drill, an empty glass jar of an interesting shape, a varnish, a brush, a level, a screwdriver, hooks, screws, dowels, printouts of recipes.
To begin with, we critically examine the box and, if necessary, lightly clean it and treat the inner surface with sandpaper. We apply a layer of varnish on it and glue the recipes in random order. In this case, air bubbles should be driven from the center to the edges, as when wallpapering. Then, when the paper dries, cover it with several layers of the same varnish.
While it dries, we drill a couple of holes in the lid of the can and screw it to the bottom of our box from the outside.
Next to it we screw in a few hooks.
We turn the box upside down and drill two holes in the back wall, this will simplify the suspension of the shelf on the wall, however, you can use special mounts.
We attach the shelf to the wall, level it with the help of a level and outline the location of the holes with a pencil.
If the wall is concrete, we drill holes and drive dowels into which we then screw the screws. If wooden, just fasten the shelf to the screws.
Screw the jar into the lid. That's it, we finished making the shelves on the wall. Photos quite clearly reflect the whole process of work. You can make any changes to it. For example, paint a shelf in your favorite color. So it will look completely different, but no less interesting.
It remains to fill the shelf. It is convenient to store tea or cookbooks in it, in a jar you can pour sugar or put various little things in it, and hang mugs on hooks.
You can combine several of these shelves and a pallet and build an entire rack from them.
We make shelves for the nursery
If you do not have a need for a kitchen shelf, then there is always a need for a shelf for children's toys and books!
We, as in the previous example, will need a box that can be slightly skinned if necessary.
Paint the box. In this case, in white - to match the walls.
Saw it in half. If there is no special table, an electric jigsaw or an ordinary hacksaw is quite suitable for this.
From two halves you get two beautiful shelves. If you need a shelf of greater depth, just measure the required distance and cut the box, however, in this case you can get only one product. We fasten to each special canopies.
All the shelves are ready. It remains only to hang them on the wall.
To prevent magazines or notebooks from falling between the slats, lay a piece of cardboard on the bottom.
