With the development of mankind, weapons have certainly developed. The development of new types of weapons did not stop in peacetime. Now the matter has come to the point that ordinary citizens can purchase weapons in a special store. However, it is not legal to buy military weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation. But the weapon of SHP is quite.
What is SHP?
A weapon of this type differs from a firearm in that it is intended for firing only with blank cartridges. SHP stands for "firing blank cartridges." It is also worth noting that all SHP weapons were initially firearms. However, he was subjected to certain design changes at the factory, after which only blank ammunition can be fired.
Weapons SHP can undergo a variety of modifications. Suppose that a chamber can be redone or reamed, because of which only blank ammunition will start to approach the weapon. Some modifications relate to the barrel of the weapon. It can become stationary and complemented by certain pins inside the structure. The main goal of such dramatic changes introduced in the factory is to make SHP weapons out of firearms.
Another feature is that all modifications are made to the internal structure, that is, the appearance remains almost unchanged. Therefore, it is practically impossible to distinguish between a salted weapon from a combat weapon. Because of this, it’s better not to carry the weapon in sight, as ordinary people will not understand, and the government will have questions.
The legitimacy of wet weapons
The law on weapons for a long time did not bring any clarity regarding this particular type of weapon. It was not clear whether it was possible to acquire and store this type of armament or whether a license was needed for this. The problem was resolved in 2012. In the summer of that year, an amendment to the Law on Weapons was made, which clearly stated that it is possible to store devices of this kind without a special license. The amendment included 3 main points:
- All weapons that were emasculated passed into the decommissioned category.
- Due to radical design changes, the weapon is no longer suitable for firing live ammunition.
- Allowed the sale of weapons under SHP to all persons who have reached the age of 18 years, and also do not have a license.
What can weakened weapons be used for?
In fact, this type of weapon has quite a few uses. It is widely in demand during the filming of films, for example. Very often, such models are acquired by people participating in the reconstruction of ancient battles. For such an action, it is very important to comply with that time, therefore, enriched weapons are the most important thing. Collectors do not bypass the purchase of such weapons. It is important for these people that any SHP model was previously a combat model, which means that it participated in real battles and carries a story. Because of this fact, any cooled pistol, machine gun, rifle is considered more valuable than the best fake gunshot.
However, there are some connoisseurs of a different kind. Certain people wonder if changes can be reversed in order to fire live ammunition. Firstly, such changes are prohibited, and violation of the law is criminally punishable. This is evidenced by article 222 of the Criminal Code. Secondly, in 95% of cases it is impossible to reverse the changes that have been made to weapons at the factory. And if there is a person who claims that he is able to restore the ability of fired weapons to firing live ammunition, he will not give any guarantee.
What is MMG SHP weapon
If everything is clear with what SHP is, then what does MMG mean? The abbreviation stands for “small-sized layout”, or “mass-sized layout”. MMG SHP - these are mock-ups with larger or smaller dimensions that were redone in the factory for firing blank cartridges. One of these models was the AK-74 Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Mosin Weapon
This type of weapon was widely known during the civil wars and was actively used. In addition, later this type of weapon was widely used by partisans during wars and criminals. It is worth noting that Mosin’s weapons received the popular name "kulak sawn-off shotgun" precisely because criminals often used it.
SHP Mosin has certain properties that distinguish it from a firearm counterpart. Of course, the type of ammunition has changed. The caliber remained the same, 7.62x54 mm, but the type of ammunition itself became not gunshot, but light-sound. The sawn-off shotgun has undergone several more significant changes, which completely ruled out the possibility of using it as a firearm.
- The chamber and the barrel got pins welded into them.
- The barrel itself was also welded to the receiver.
- The shutter mirror was removed.
It may be added that Mosin’s sawn-off shotgun has not changed in appearance. Only design changes were made. Therefore, do not get it in public, as there is a big risk of attracting the attention of the police.
TT gun
A very common TT pistol also received its copy marked SHP. TT is considered a bulk copy of its firearm.
Like all other SHPs, this one has its own unique features. The bolt, the frame and the barrel bore got pins mounted in them, which cannot be removed. And, of course, the factory alteration of the chamber under light-sound cartridges does not allow returning the gun to its original combat state.
