Copper grease: characteristics and features

The use of innovative lubricants improves the quality and efficiency of any equipment. A fairly wide range of such products is presented on the modern market, however, choosing the most effective option for lubricating specific units operating in extreme conditions is not an easy task requiring appropriate skills and knowledge.

Scope of copper pastes and greases

Many of us have heard of copper-based lubricants, but probably not everyone knows what they are and where they are used. The specified lubricant is widely used in the metallurgical, automotive, food industries, petrochemical and foundries.

high temperature copper grease
Why is copper grease so popular? The thing is that this material is able to withstand high temperatures and strong pressure. High-temperature copper grease retains its properties in a wide temperature range - from -30 to +1100 Β° , which guarantees its 100% efficiency. It is used for processing threaded joints, nuts, terminals, adjusting bolts, sliding bearings, valves, hinges, dies, flange joints, etc. Copper grease is an indispensable assistant when performing tire fitting operations for processing bolts and hubs. The specified material can be applied to almost any surface - cast iron, aluminum, bronze, steel, brass, nickel.

copper spray grease
The regular use of special copper pastes, greases and sprays will extend the β€œlife” of expensive equipment. Copper grease will fully protect the mechanisms from the effects of physico-chemical and mechanical factors (water, steam, weak salt and acid-base solutions), reliably protect the joints from seizing, soldering, clamping, welding, corrosion during prolonged operation in extreme conditions.

Basic physical characteristics of copper grease and its advantages

The main advantages of the above lubricants include the following parameters:

  • high bearing surface;
  • excellent hydrophobic properties;
  • high adhesion to any materials;
  • lack of a dropping point;
  • low evaporation rate;
  • high temperature resistance;
  • easy disassembly of devices even after their long operation;
  • good corrosion protection ;
  • providing a constant tightening force of threaded joints;
  • universality in application;
  • excellent capillary properties, allowing the composition to easily penetrate into small crevices and openings.

Copper pastes and greases:

  • reduce vibration and noise;
  • withstand high pressure;
  • provide electrical conductivity;
  • do not contain lead;
  • effectively prevent abrasion and jamming of parts.

Copper grease: application features

Most specialists recommend that they be thoroughly cleaned of dust, old paste and dirt before applying material to the treated surfaces. Copper spray grease should be applied to a clean surface. Surplus can not be removed. To apply the product in banks, a special brush or a clean piece of cloth (rags) is used.
