The Jews considered Adam Cadmon to be a manifestation of some absolute particle of human essence that existed in those distant times when there was not even a thought about the appearance of man himself.
Adam Kadmon or Adam Heavenly
From the point of view of Kaballah, Adam Kadmon (the literal translation that is considered correct by the Kabbalists, sounds like “Adam from heaven” or “the original man”) - a kind of connecting link connecting an infinite God with a limited humanity.
Esotericists, doubting the human nature of such natural phenomena, consider Adam Heavenly one of the main symbols of all types of magic and alchemy.
In the Jewish work “Raziel,” dated to the 10th century, Adam Kadmon appears as a creature with knowledge of the fate of every earthly person and all dialects existing in the world. The wisdom and magic power of Adam Kadmon, whose parts of the body were heavenly bodies, made him the ruler of the world.
Two Adam
Theosophy views the heavenly Adam as natura naturans - the abstract world, while the name given to the earthly Adam (meaning all of humanity) - natura naturata (material universe). The first of the two Adams is the bearer of the divine essence, the second is the bearer of the mind of this essence.
The Holy Fathers categorically deny the concept of the dual nature of the first person, and by two Adams they mean two separate individuals. The mention of the existence of two Adams is indeed in the Scriptures. Adam Kadmon, according to Christian texts, is none other than the God-man Jesus Christ. The second Adam is the first earthly man, also a completely independent person.
According to the Apostle Paul, every Christian is between the old and heavenly Adam, that is, between the sins, death, apostasy and disobedience inherent in the fallen nature of man, and the grace, humility, immortality and eternal life brought by the New Man.
The New Man, the Lord Jesus Christ, Adam Kadmon - it doesn’t matter what Christians call Jesus, if they remember their calling for the sake of which they appeared on Earth: ... to “seduce” the old Adam and “put on Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 4: 22).
Healthy selfishness as an engine of progress
The history of the development of human society is closely connected with the phenomenon that is considered to be natural - human egoism or ego, without which the struggle with the forces of nature for the sake of survival would be impossible.
Adam or the original person, who is considered to be the founder of Kabbalistic knowledge, had a zero level of egoism (Kabbalists have five ego levels). The selfishness of the descendants of the father of mankind, on the contrary, increased and even reached the following levels. Thus, the selfish desire to “surpass” Adam made Kabbalah more informative, allowed his sons to penetrate deeper into the secrets of the universe and supplement his father’s book with new Kabbalistic knowledge.
What is Kabbalah?
The purpose of Kabbalah is through meditation, reading bible verses or other meditative techniques (the choice of which is huge) to help a person better understand himself and realize the reasons:
- its embodiment on the planet and in space;
- events occurring with him and his ancestors.
According to Kabbalah, humanity will be able to reach the level of “man” (which means “Adam” in Hebrew) only when it can shed light on all the secrets of the universe and will understand:
- what forces interact within it;
- what his actions affect all of his surrounding nature (higher and lower);
- what result will be able to lead it to certain actions.
Among the many methods of spiritual growth practiced by the Kabbalists are classes in mental visualization. By visualizing the flame of a candle, a flower, a flower field, or any other corner of nature, a person, freed from the game of the mind, gains the ability to see things as they are. Continuous pronunciation of any biblical phrases leads to the same result.
Only after secret knowledge is revealed to a person, do the Kabbalists believe that he, whether he wants it or not, will begin to act correctly, without violating the laws of nature. The initial cycle of human comprehension of nature, in accordance with Kabbalah, was completed at the beginning of the 21st century.
Kabbalah through the eyes of the materialists
From a scientific point of view, Kabbalah is a book that contains one of the ways to prove the existence of a unified ruling force called the Creator. All existing worlds are subject to this power, including absolutely all creatures living in them.
Scientists deny Kabbalah’s connection with mysticism and religion. For them, this teaching is a kind of scientific work created on the basis of repeated experiments, through which the so-called sixth sense can be created.
Kabbalah, in the eyes of some pundits, reveals the state of a person who is in other dimensions: before incarnation on Earth, before the formation of the five senses in his body, and also after he leaves the physical world. Having revealed for himself all the secrets of the universe and having reached the most perfect state, he will no longer be born in this world.
