Agatha Christie Group: biography
As schoolchildren, we begin to think about which path in life to choose. This happened with the legendary ensemble "Agatha Christie." Since 1979, a group created by high school students performed at every dance evening in secondary school No. 1 of Asbest town. It was attended by Peter May and Alexander Kozlov. At one of the rehearsals, a seemingly plain-looking boy Vadim Samoilov appeared, he expressed a desire to join the group. He was offered a place behind Ionika. The guys were immediately able to play and sing. At that time, the group existed without a specific name, the students knew its ensemble of secondary school No. 1. When new dance music began to be played at discotheques, the group suspended their concert schedule for two years, but the guys didn’t stop talking to them. Samoilov became a student at the radio faculty, and his younger brother Gleb expressed a desire to save the ensemble, but this required changes. So, in the Ural Polytechnic there appeared a group of VIA "RTF UPI" and a debut album entitled "If ...". In the same year, the team began to be called "Agatha Christie." The group was named by Alexander Kozlov, when choosing the name, he proceeded from the fact that the initials of his name are present in the phrase.

Late 1980s
The rock band Agatha Christie officially celebrates its birthday on February 20. In 1988, the ensemble gave the first concert on this day. The debut album "Second Front" was recorded at the end of 1987, but it was released only in 1997. The group was noticed after the release of the second disc, “Cunning and Love,” and since then they have successfully performed at many concerts. So, at the third festival of the Sverdlovsk rock club, they met with Makarevich and Butusov. Peter May leaves the group, replaced by Potapkin Albert and Shutilev Lev. The second album is rewritten on CD, and with a modified track list, the team performs at the Moscow festivals Syrok, Step to Parnassus and Intershans. “Agatha Christie” appeared on television, and director Andrei Razbash took part in creating the first video for the track “Viva, Kalman!”.
Commercial success
In 1990, Agatha Christie recorded the third album, entitled Decadence, although it will be released next year. At this time, small changes in the composition are taking place: Andrey Kotov takes the place of Potapkin . The tracks of the album show a clear transition from insane extravaganza to restraint and reflection. Having released the album, the group pauses its work for a while, because people prefer phonogram music - pop music, and the group was not very popular at that time. Kozlov had to make a difficult choice: devote himself to cardiology or music. Despite conservative parents, he decided to choose the second. “Agatha Christie” together with the groups “Chayf”, “Time Machine” and “Crematorium” in 1991 and 1994 took part in charity concerts “Anti AIDS”. In 1991, the band's team received a grand prix at the French Open du Rock festival: they were awarded 10,000 francs and a bottle of whiskey.
In 1993, “Agatha Christie” released an energetic album called “Shameful Star” when simple jeans were replaced by tailcoats and eyeshadows. The hallmark of the group was the track "Like a war." New songs instantly appeared on television and radio, and the team successfully toured the country. Agatha Christie begins cooperation with the production company Rise Music, Vladimir Meskhi.
In 1995, the performers awaited tremendous success and popularity, all thanks to the release of the album "Opium". The love of youth was accompanied by the hostility of their parents.
Creativity "Agatha Christie"
During its existence, the team managed to work in more than one direction of rock music, nevertheless, post-punk still prevails. Several times there were changes in the composition of the group, but the main participants were constantly the Samoilov brothers. A certain mysticism, a depressing atmosphere, hopelessness, a vivid manner of performance and lyrics, saturated with magic, became the hallmark of the Agatha Christie ensemble. The group gained special popularity thanks to such compositions as “Opium for Nobody”, “Like at War”, “Fairytale Taiga”, “Eternal Love”, “Black Moon” and “Carpet-Helicopter”.
Currently, the musical collective has 10 studio albums, 3 maxi-singles, 5 collections, 18 video clips and 2 remix albums.
