The system of performance assessment allows to increase its effectiveness. This applies both to a single organization, and to society as a whole. In many ways, the assessment of activity depends on the behavior of the person who carries it out.
It can be both effective and ineffective, which affects the success of the work. For example, in trading activities, sales growth can be considered a positive result, and in managerial activities - coordinated and organized work of the entire team.
What is the evaluation criterion?
But in order to evaluate the quality of activity of any employee, it is necessary to find out by what criteria the evaluation will be made. What is a criterion? In the language of terms, this is a characteristic of a particular activity, which, according to experts, is a kind of "standard". To achieve the goals of both the individual and the entire organization, this standard must be achieved.
Classification of assessment criteria
What is the criterion, we found out, now we will try to figure out on what grounds they are grouped. Depending on the breadth of coverage of activity, highly specialized and corporate criteria are distinguished. If the latter should correspond to all employees or members of the company, without exception, specialized ones are important only for a certain occupation or a specific workplace.

According to the subject of evaluation, quantitative and qualitative criteria are distinguished. What is a quantitative criterion? Its significance is very clear: according to the results achieved, it is possible to judge the timeliness and volume of the implementation of the tasks. Qualitative criteria are somewhat more complicated. These include, first of all, the quality of the work done, which is often more important than the quantity. Also, quality indicators include individual characteristics of the employee, determined using special tests, scales, questionnaires. Sociability, initiative, emotional stability will be of great importance for the successful achievement of the set results.
Analysis Criteria: A Side View
You can often hear that the most reliable information is provided by objective evaluation criteria. They exist in almost any activity in the
form of standards, norms, and average
indicators of labor productivity. But sometimes achievements are evaluated and subjective. What is a criterion of this kind? This is an assessment indicator based on authoritative opinion “from the outside”. For example, the correct behavior of an employee can be assessed using the subjective opinion of his colleagues or direct management.
Finally, the criteria are divided into simple and integral. Using the same subjective indicators mentioned above, you can get information about the quality of work of any employee, about his behavior in the team, level of conflict or other characteristics. Such criteria are considered simple. If information on various aspects of activity is combined in one indicator, we can talk about integral assessment. In other words, the integral criterion is a combination of simple ones.
