Governor's education
The current governor of the Belgorod region celebrates his birthday on April 8, and he was born in 1950. Political career
Since 1980, Yevgeny Savchenko worked in the district and regional bodies of the CPSU and was appointed first deputy chairman of the executive committee of the Rakityan Council. In 1989, he joined the Council of People's Deputies. 1993 was the starting point in Savchenko's career. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin temporarily appointed him to the post of head of the administration of the Belgorod region, instead of the dismissed Viktor Ivanovich Berestovoy. A month later, a decree was signed confirming Evgeny Savchenko in this position. For the post of governor of the Belgorod region fought Mikhail Beskhmelnitsyn and Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who collected 19% and 17% of the vote respectively.
