Small arms for self-defense are gaining popularity today. In most countries, it is forbidden to store, and even more so use combat models. However, there are other species different from them. One of the most popular is traumatic. Most models are created similar to combat. As you know, the Makarov pistol was introduced into the troops immediately after the end of World War II. In Ukraine, in the early 90s, it was considered obsolete. Therefore, the development of a new pistol, which would meet all the requirements, began. The Fort became such a model. Traumatic types of these weapons also began to be created. Which one is the best? Can a Fort (pistol) save a life?

However, in order to correctly evaluate the models, it is necessary to turn to the history of the combat pistol itself. Traumatic products adopted all the features and disadvantages of the ancestor. A Czech company actively participated in the development. The first batch was released already in 1995. Two years later, the tests were completed, and in 1998 the Fort (pistol) was put into mass production, which was carried out in the Czech Republic.

Although, of course, if we take into account impacts on a hard surface, the Fort-17P will serve less time than its competitor. Usually every small weapon has a resource, having worked out which, it breaks. However, this is conditional. Interestingly, many users prefer large and heavy models of traumatic weapons. In fact, the smaller the size and weight of the gun, the better. Large and uncomfortable can only scare an ignorant opponent. Just for such purposes, "Fort-12R" is best suited. It also uses a 9 mm RA cartridge, and a barrel length of 9.5 cm, as with the above gun. The weapon appeared in 1999 and has several models that can be called similar to it. They, like the traumatic pistol Fort-12P, released at different times, have some differences. A feature is the use of exclusively steel, which, of course, makes the gun strong and at the same time heavy. Therefore, this quality cannot be attributed to either good or bad.
