Nino Chakvetadze (1971) was born and lives in Tbilisi. She graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. Since 1997 - Member of the Union of Artists of Georgia. Her work is deeply personal. However, it affects the feelings of any person who watches the work of Nino Chakvetadze, whose paintings tell about kindness and childhood.
Inescapable tenderness
Only in 2011 did Nino Chakvetadze find her own topic. She began to write what is closest to her soul: boys and girls, grandparents, who are also children in their own way, because they are helpless without us, strong and affectionate. Nino Chakvetadze paints a picture with his heart and soul, therefore they invariably evoke nostalgic feelings, the desire to protect and protect the baby and the old man from adversity, warm and caress, see a smile on his sad face.

The wise old faces of grandparents look at the baby who is sleeping peacefully. He doesn’t know how many life storms he will have to endure, and the old couple, who together passed more than one everyday test, knows that his fate can turn out as he wants, and therefore they are so sad. You involuntarily expect that young parents will come in, pick up the baby and kiss the elderly, and smiles will play on everyone's faces. In the meantime, all the tones are muffled, quiet, a little sleepy. The velvet of the old woman’s dress, the most delicate lace collar, the snow-white hair and the huge eyes of the elderly spouses rivet the attention of the viewer, and the peace of the baby - to the tender and sad concentration of two old men on him.
Both rain and snow
How little sun Nino Chakvetadze writes, whose paintings are filled with mist, fog, drizzling rain, large snowflakes. Everything is under black umbrellas, which further enhances the feeling of sorrow that shines in the eyes of a lonely child or puppy among walking people. On the canvas is bad weather. It is raining. Everything is tightened with marsh-purple muffled tones.

In the distance, the figure of a good old man bent with his back to the viewer and far away. He is certainly kind, able to empathize and help even more helpless than himself. What did Nino Chakvetadze portray here? Pictures of responsiveness and disinterestedness, caring for those left to the mercy of an evil fate: her hero gave his umbrella to a helpless little white puppy, and he himself went to get wet in the rain. The kid is at least a little sheltered from the torrential rain and cannot comprehend his happiness. He is in a state of ignorance. Perplexity is written on the face. He has never encountered such an attitude. Which of the people will be able to repeat such an act?
Self portrait on a tree
As a child, as Nino herself says, she loved to climb trees. Pictures of Georgian artist Nino Chakvetadze often show children in this position. An fig tree grew near her house. She loved to sit on its branches. The whole world was becoming equal to her: small, comfortable.
Nino Chakvetadze's paintings (the photo presented here is one of her favorite works that hangs at her home) - to some extent this is a portrait of her childhood. A girl sitting on a thick branch is herself. Little Nino sadly says goodbye to the summer. The last few red leaves remained on the tree, winter is coming. In general, the
paintings of the artist Chakvetadze Nino are generalizations.
About the artist’s work
Heroes of Nino are charming children and lovely old people. All with huge eyes, by which you can determine what kind of person is in front of us. In Georgia, jam is made from nuts. When a child has big dark eyes, they always tell him that they look like nut jam. Children with such eyes are always nice and very pleasant. The artist’s hand is recognizable, and among the imitations, and now there are many of them, you will immediately recognize her work.

Sincerity, kindness, slight sadness - all this characterizes Nino Chakvetadze, whose paintings are nostalgia for the happy childhood that she had. It forever left a wonderful mark in her life. More and more moving away from him with age, Nino Chakvetadze writes paintings, dreaming of returning the impossible. She doesn’t want to leave him. The audience falls into the circle of her sincere happy fairy-tale feelings. The truth for the artist is the kindness and joy of communicating with loved ones. Often people in her brooding characters in the paintings recognize themselves and write to her about it. Children, events on the street and unusually beautiful old Tbilisi doors inspire new work. At Nino’s works it often rains or snows, because she herself loves them, as well as the romantic note that they bring with them to the canvas. Pictures are often written to the quiet music of Chopin or Gia Kancheli. Music and silence create a special creative mood that can change a previously conceived work.
How to name a new job
Depending on the image, the world of deepened childhood and pure experiences opens up again Nino Chakvetadze. Pictures with the names tell the truth: “Ball”, “In the evening”, “Grandmother”, “Hide and Seek”, “At the matinee”, “Friends”, “Sadness”, “Angels”, “Artist”, “True friends”, “Hid ”,“ Friendly walk ”,“ On the street ”,“ Adventures ”,“ Asleep ”,“ Holidays ”,“ First love ”,“ Bedtime story ”,“ Autumn day ”,“ Waiting ”.
"Ball"
On the edge of the hill, covered with flowers and grass, there are three cute heroes: a girl, a little boy and a puppy. They stand against the blue sky, which occupies two-thirds of the canvas.
The flowers still bloom, but it’s cool outside. The kids are dressed in autumn and hold each other's hands. They have warm little coats and hats, the boy has a scarf tied, and on the leash he holds their faithful little friend. All three are inseparably looking at the white translucent ball, which they released, and he soared into the sky. “Where will he fly?” - this is what this trinity thought about. They released the ball for happiness and wish him to find it. It would seem how small a ball is, but how much it means to children. So in the future they will learn to give freedom to those who need it. After all, it all starts with small. For them, this is the first step in parting with a loved one. They are angels without wings, but Nino has other angels.
Nino Chakvetadze, paintings: angels
Where did the angels come to the paintings of Nino Chakvetadze? They went down from the New Year trees, did they linger among us? Or maybe they came from dreams?
In addition, we must remember that each of us has his own angel on his shoulder and is sad when we do something wrong, and rejoices when we do good deeds, especially helping someone. Her angels are just kids with wings attached. They also want to play snowballs with everyone, ride a sled, tinker with puppies, but they are always alone and therefore sad. They know how to rejoice in someone else's joy and grieve someone else's sadness. Nino awarded them with the ability to empathize, responsiveness and disinterestedness. Looking at them, the viewer rejoices at the opportunity to help other people, feeling the fullness of being.
Touching and naivety is Nino's gift to the viewer, who has already become somewhat hardened. She treats with kindness and affectionate and friendly disposition hidden in her works.
