The VAZ 2107 model , reviews of which have always been favorable, is an improved analogue of the well-known VAZ “five”. There are several design differences, first of all, a more powerful engine of the VAZ 2106 brand was installed on the seven instead of the previous VAZ 2103. The added power was seven hp. by increasing the diameter of the cylinders from 76 mm to 79 mm. The compression ratio has remained the same. The gas distribution drive was a classic, double-chain with an intermediate star gear. The 2105 engine, which stood on all fives, did not receive development with a belt drive, and it was soon abolished. For a long time, engines 2103 and 2106 were installed on all VAZ sedans. The 2104 station wagon was also equipped with these proven engines.
At that time, the VAZ 2107 model had positive characteristics in all respects, in addition to the power plant, it received a radically redesigned interior. The level of comfort increased significantly, the front seats expanded, added ergonomics, and the back of the seats stretched up so that the head restraints ceased to exist independently and became the upper part of the back. A tachometer was added to the instruments, the speedometer changed the speed scale, now the rightmost digit was 180 km / h. This did not mean that the car began to run at such a speed, but this goal was not set. Of the other notable improvements, there was a new switching of lighting fixtures, levers placed under the steering wheel.
The chassis of the car, the chassis and the front suspension remained unchanged, multi-link on the silent blocks with

This new exterior detail blends well with the shiny rear bumper trim and the matte stripes on the front. In general, the design of the next VAZ model left a good impression. As for the driving performance of the car, they were also at a good level and the car was exported to many countries. Demand for the VAZ 2107, reviews on the car once again became positive, in Russia and the countries of the near abroad it rose slightly in 2008, when European standards for the catalysis of CO and injection fuel injection began to be applied when assembling the car.
They also tried to diversify the complete set, the VAZ 2107 car, the technical characteristics of which have substantially leveled off, have been offered in three trim levels since 2006: the most inexpensive option “Norma” included a usual set of accessories, an engine of 1.3 liters, the “Standard” option gave the car more comfortable lounge and 1.5-liter engine. And finally, the most expensive version of the “Lux” with a 1.6 liter engine, high front seats and a chrome front grill. However, the VAZ 2107 car, reviews of the quality of which again left much to be desired, was produced for too long, for thirty years, the market was oversaturated and no innovations could increase its sales. The machine has become average in many respects and its production ceased in 2012.
