Scooters have long become an integral part of the traffic of any country. They are compact, affordable and virtually maintenance-free. This technique is ideal as a vehicle for moving around the city.
Moped rides, on the other hand, are rather boring.
Scooters almost never reach speeds of more than 75 km / h. In addition, such vehicles look cheap; many people don’t like the design of scooters. What to do if you need a 50 cc motorcycle with a bright appearance and high maximum speed?
For such cases, many manufacturers produce models that can be combined into a separate segment - mini-sportbikes.
What are they? To better understand this issue, we highlight a couple of typical representatives of this class. To be honest, consider representatives of different countries: the Italian bike Aprilia RS 50 and the Japanese motorcycle Honda NS 1.
Let's start with the Japanese "baby". Honda Motor Company boasts a wide variety of auto and motor vehicles. In particular, Honda sports bikes have always been incredible success. And the Honda NS1 model is just a representative of the sportbike family. True, the youngest.
The motorcycle has a sporty body design. Sportiness also gives a special color scheme (see the first photo). But this is only appearance. Inside, there is a miniature 50 cc two-stroke. Its power is only 7 "horses". However, the device weighs only 92 kg, which gives the ability to pick up speed of 115 km / h even with such a small engine.
The gas tank is designed for 8 liters of fuel. The base of the motorcycle is 1295 mm, the height of the saddle is 750 mm. Torque is transmitted via a chain drive and a 6-speed gearbox.
It is worth noting that there is also a version of the Honda NS 1 with the NSB80 index. The model is equipped with an 80 cc engine with a capacity of 14 hp. Unfortunately, such a modification is available only in Spain.
Now let's move on to the elegant Italian model Aprilia RS 50. The motorcycle design undoubtedly emphasizes the impeccable Italian taste. Externally, Aprilia is no different from an expensive sports bike. Honda NS 1 is still far from this.
As for the engine, there are practically no differences from the Japanese counterpart. All the same 50 cc engine and 7 hp power. Two-stroke motor, cooled by liquid. The standard 6-speed gearbox and chain drive allow the most efficient use of engine capabilities.
The mass of the "Italian" is 89 kg. The use of a diagonal aluminum alloy frame made it possible to reduce the weight of the apparatus.
This technical filling allows the RS50 to accelerate to 112 km / h. It is worth noting that in many countries speed limiters are installed on motorcycles of this series, so they turn into mopeds with a maximum speed of 50 km / h.
In addition to safety, Aprilia also cares about the environment. Thanks to an advanced exhaust system, the engine meets the requirements of Euro 1.
So to summarize. Motorcycle Honda NS 1 a little faster and faster than the "Italian", but it has an outdated design. So if you need a high-quality and stylish transport, choose Aprilia RS 50, if you value speed and availability, then the Honda NS 1 will be the best option.
