Vadim Glukhov. Life and death

In the history of the 90s, there was no more popular Russian punk rock band than the Gaza Strip. Sassy rhythmic songs, which reflected the whole naked truth of life, interspersed with funny fun tunes spiced with a good portion of foul language, quickly won the love and recognition of the people. โ€œGaza Stripโ€ concerts came to entire cities, districts, sang along with soloist Yuri Hoi and blissed out their favorite songs. The group arose in December 1987 and during its existence changed several compositions of musicians. The lead singer and founder of Gaza, Yuri Khoy, chose to participate in a group of talented people who became good friends. Guitarists, keyboards have changed several times, but the success of the musical collective has not weakened.

Composition of the group

The initial composition of the group included, in addition to soloist Yuri Klinsky, drummer Oleg Kryukov, bass player Semyon Titievsky and Sergey Tupikin. In 1991, the guitarist Igor Zhirnov joined the band, and in 1992 Vadim Glukhov, the guitarist who replaced Sergei Tupikin, appeared in the group. Vadim and Yuri were familiar for several years, often intersecting at musical parties. At that time, Vadim Glukhov worked at the Voronezh Philharmonic, was a professional musician. Yura Khoy invited Glukhov to play in their team, and Vadim happily agreed.

Yura Khoy died in 2000 in Voronezh, and his friend Vadim Glukhov survived the lead of the Gaza Strip for 11 years. The guitarist in the last years of his life was in severe depression, often quarreled with his family, could not find a place for himself. After the death of Yuri Klinsky, many musicians of the group left this world. Vadim Glukhov disappeared in January 2011, he was searched by police, friends and relatives. Family members of the guitarist said that Glukhov disappeared suddenly, no one could name the reasons for his disappearance. The apartment the musician left was open, the home telephone did not work. It was not possible to find the missing immediately. His body was discovered only in April 2011 in the area of โ€‹โ€‹the military airport in Voronezh. Bottles with traces of alcohol and bottles of Corvalol were found next to the stiffened corpse. Doctors indicated the cause of death as poisoning with low-quality alcohol, although relatives claimed that Vadim did not drink alcohol. The last guitarist of the Gas Sector was buried at the Budyonovsky cemetery. Unfortunately, this is not what Vadim Glukhov requested. The funeral was arranged at the expense of funds raised by fans and fans of the group, and there was only enough money for a place on Budenovsky, and not next to Yuri Klinsky at the Left Bank cemetery, as Vadim asked, foreseeing his departure from life.
