The debut of "Technology" took place at the very beginning of the 90s. She became the first representative of synth-pop on the Russian stage. Soloists of the Technology group Nechitailo and Ryabtsev instantly became pop stars. They remain famous until now.

Biography of Vladimir Nechitailo

The musician hails from Moscow. He was born on January 11, 1967. After leaving school, the future lead singer of the Technology group went to study at the Faculty of Computer Systems Development at Moscow State Technical University. Bauman. Until 1990, he was responsible for the equipment in the Bioconstructor group, and after its collapse, he joined the new team as a vocalist.

For several years, Vladimir Nechitailo published the Long Play newspaper and was the head of the fan club of the same name. This amateur publication aimed at popularizing electronic music in the post-Soviet space. Thanks to him, many first heard about artists such as Duran Duran, Alphaville, Kraftwerk.

Due to the beautiful voice, similar to the opera, the singer was often compared with the British David Gahan from Depeche Mode. But the musician himself, like his colleagues, does not like such comparisons.

The first steps of the group

"Technology" in the early years

In 1990, after the departure of vocalist Alexander Yakovlev, members of the popular in narrow circles group "Bioconstructor" decided to start from scratch. And they created a new team that made them famous.

Soon Vladimir Nechitailo joined the team, who had also worked with Bioconstructor before. He took the vacant seat of a soloist. The group began recording demo material for the upcoming album. The guys wrote songs and shot videos with a small budget. "Technology" soon began to broadcast regional radio studios.

Relations with the producer

One of the key figures in the formation of the group was producer Yuri Aizenshpis. He joined the team after much persuasion in April 1991. Aizenshpis was already a well-known personality in musical circles. He produced the Kino group, and it was with him that Viktor Tsoi gained popular popularity.

"Technology" under his leadership is rapidly gaining momentum. In the same year, their debut album entitled “Everything You Want” was released on cassettes and vinyl records. Active rotation on the radio began. Songs of the Technology group “Press the button” and “Strange dances” become popular hits. They stay for months at the top of the charts.

Yuri Aizenshpis did not intervene in the process of composing songs, giving musicians complete freedom for creativity. But they were not happy with the fact that the producer took a large percentage of the concert fees for his work. In 1992, Technology terminated a contract with Aizenshpis with a scandal.

Soon after, the group split up for the first time. Leading musicians left her. Including, Roman Ryabtsev was invited to France to record a solo album. By that time, he became interested in Britpop and wanted to write guitar music that did not match the style of Technology.

Yuri Aizenshpis’s business was not an example better. After "Technology", he collaborated with such musicians as Linda, Dima Bilan, Vlad Stashevsky, "Code of Ethics", Katya Lel.

Concert activity

At the peak of popularity, the team was in great demand. The soloists of the Technology group gave four concerts a day and got terribly exhausted. Accumulated fatigue and discontent with each other.

"Technology" performed with great success at the rock festival in Tallinn. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, children gathered stadiums with thousands of spectators. The group traveled a lot with tours of Russian cities.

After the reunion, the musicians continued to give concerts in clubs. In 2003, they performed with the legends of synth-pop, the German group Camouflage. Most often, "Technology" performs its hits from the first albums. The audience at their concerts usually wants to remember their favorite tunes, and not listen to new songs by the band.

Unexpected reunion

Technology Group Now

The first attempt to resurrect the team was made by the soloist of the technology group Nechitailo back in 1996. In collaboration with Leonid Velichkovsky, he recorded the album "This is War." At live performances, along with the duet, invited musicians played: Maxim Velichkovsky on synthesizers, Kirill Mikhailov on drums and Victor Burko with backing vocals.

In 2002, Roman Ryabtsev, after unsuccessful attempts to build a solo career, returned to Technology. Three albums were reissued and a new recording began. It was created for several years and was released only in 2009.

In 2007, an important event for the group took place - for the filming of the crime drama "One Love in a Million", the musicians gathered their first line-up. In the frame, they played themselves at the peak of popularity.

Ryabtsev entered the initial composition of the Technology group, starting in the duet “Farewell, youth!”, He sang and played the guitar. Leonid Velichkovsky played keyboards. Ryabtsev in 1993 signed a contract to record a solo album with the French radio station Radio France Internationale, and left Technology for several years. Soon, Andrei Kokhaev left.

After reunification in 2002, one of the founders, Leonid Velichkovsky, left the team. By that time he was already engaged in his own business, unrelated to music, and there was no time left for the group. His place in the updated "Technology" was taken by two new musicians - Alexei Savostin and Matvey Yudov with backing vocals and keyboards. Previously, they worked with the "Module" group.

Three years later, one of the founders returns - drummer Andrei Kokhaev. But in 2011, he again leaves the group with Alexei Savostin. In 2017, Ryabtsev was once again carried away by a solo project. "Technology" remained in the following composition: Vladimir Nechitailo - frontman, Matvey Yudov - arrangements, back vocals and keyboards, Stas Veselov on drums.

Solo Projects

Roman Ryabtsev

The team of Nechitailo was a pioneer in Russian music of the early nineties. After a successful techno-pop album “Everything You Want” in 1992, they released Russia's first album of cover versions, “I Need Information”.

The second of the studio albums was released in 1993. It was called "Sooner or later." The following entries were complicated by changes in composition. But still, in 1996, the album "This is War" was released, which was created by Leonid Velichkovsky and the soloist of the group "Technology" Nechitailo.

The group’s last album at the moment was "The Bearer of Ideas" of 2009. In 2019, the release of another disc entitled "The Man Who Is Not There" is planned. In addition, there are several singles and collections of songs from the group "Technology" of different years.

"Technology" now

The history of Technology was not calm. With each subsequent breakup, team members spoke less and less flattering about each other, blaming women for their failures or artificially heated ambitions. In fact, the contradictions within the collective grew like a snowball from the first years of its existence.

Ryabtsev publicly announced his intention through the court to achieve a ban on former colleagues from performing songs of his composition during concerts. Vladimir Nechitailo and the musicians were indignant at the fact that he was engaged exclusively in PR of himself, and did not even take the rest of the group for interviews.

"Technology" still plays concerts in small metropolitan clubs and venues in other regions of Russia. Synth-pop music is not as popular as it was in the early nineties. But the old loyal fans still come to the performance of their favorite teams to imbue with nostalgia for the past. Vladimir Nechitailo, along with Technology, continues to perform for them.
