Rock band “Black Square” was created by Igor Sokolov. The band was formed in Belgorod in 1989. It was there that Igor received his musical education at BGIIK, choosing the tuba class.
Debut
The Black Square group was created thanks to a passion for the work of Viktor Tsoi. Igor managed to carry it through his life. During the first years of the existence of the collective, a large number of various musical material was written. He later entered the albums Parallels and Walking under the Moon. The musician created some songs while serving in the army, separate poems were written, and later donated to our hero by Alisa Ponikarovskaya and Tatyana Kolkova.
Capital
In 2001, Igor went to Moscow and strives for self-realization in his work. As a result, the Black Square group was revived after 2 years. At first, the group consisted of various session musicians. The Black Square group gains its permanent membership much later. Prior to that, there were the first rehearsals in the territory of the Palace of Culture of CSK. Soon debut metropolitan concerts began in various clubs. The acoustic performance took place in the “Oracle of the Divine Bottle”. An electronic concert was held at Club 31.
Creation
The Black Square group gained its first permanent line-up and began playing street concerts. The team quickly acquired fans who came to listen to the musicians at the appointed time in the usual place. This is, first of all, VDNH, Vorobyovy Gory, Arbat. The team received the title of "street musicians", which did not seem to the participants something unworthy or humiliating. The energy of such live concerts was always liked by the team. Thanks to such performances, the group was recognized by hundreds of guests of the capital and Muscovites. Since 2010, the team begins to play the Kino tribute program. Victor Tsoi’s creative work through time finds an echo in the hearts of the audience.
