11 rules for finding peace of mind

Inner harmony, calm and order, general peace of mind - these are the desired states of each person. Our life basically goes like on a swing - from negative emotions to a state of joy, euphoria, and vice versa.

How to find and maintain a point of balance so that the world is perceived positively and calmly, doesn’t irritate, doesn’t scare, and the present moment brings inspiration and joy? And is it possible to find a lasting peace of mind? Yes it is possible! Moreover, with peace comes true freedom and the simple happiness of living.

These are simple rules, and they work scrupulously. You just need to stop thinking HOW to change, and start to APPLY them.

1. Stop asking: “Why did this happen to me?” Ask yourself another question: “What happened was wonderful? What good can this turn out for me? ”There is a good thing for sure, you just need to see it. Any problem can turn into a real gift from above, if we consider it as a chance, and not as punishment or injustice.

2. Work out gratitude. Every evening, summarize: for which you can say "thank you" to the day lived. If peace of mind is lost, remember the good things you have and what you can thank life for.

3. Exercise your body. Remember that the brain most actively produces “hormones of happiness” (endorphins and enkephalins) precisely during physical training. Therefore, if you are overcome by problems, anxiety, insomnia - go outside and walk for several hours. A quick step or run will distract from sad thoughts, saturate the brain with oxygen and raise the level of positive hormones.

4. Develop a “vigorous posture” and come up with a happy posture. The body can help remarkably when it is necessary to restore peace of mind. It will “remember” the feeling of joy if you simply straighten your back, straighten your shoulders, stretch yourself happily and smile. Consciously hold yourself for some time in this position, and you will see that the thoughts in your head become more calm, confident and happy.

5. Return yourself to the here and now state. A simple exercise helps to get rid of anxiety: look around, focus on what you see. Begin mentally “voicing” the picture by inserting as many words “now” and “here” as possible. For example: “I'm walking down the street, the sun is shining here. Now I see a man, he bears yellow flowers ... ”etc. Life consists only of moments "now", do not forget about it.

6. Do not exaggerate your problems. After all, even if you bring the fly close to your eyes, it will become the size of an elephant! If some experience seems insurmountable to you, think as if ten years have already passed ... How many problems have been before, you have solved them all. Therefore, this disaster will pass, do not dive into it with your head!

7. Laugh more. Try to find something funny in the current state of affairs. It doesn’t work out - then just find a reason for sincere laughter. Watch a funny movie, remember a funny incident. The power of laughter is simply amazing! Peace of mind often returns after a good dose of humor.

8. More goodbye. Grievances are like heavy, foul-smelling stones that you carry around with you. What peace of mind can be with such a burden? Therefore, do not hold evil. People are just people, they cannot be perfect and always carry only good. So forgive the offenders and forgive yourself.

9. Give and give. There is always something to share with others - attention, time, money, good deeds. True peace of mind cannot occur in a person who lives only for himself. Look around - life always gives you the opportunity to take care of other people. It brings inner peace and joy.

10. Talk more. Any pain hidden inside, multiplies and brings new sad fruits. Therefore, share your experiences, discuss them with loved ones, seek support from them. Do not forget that a person is not intended for loneliness. Peace of mind can only be found in close relationships - friendships, love affairs, kinship.

11. Pray and meditate. Do not let bad evil thoughts control you, sow panic, pain and irritation. Change them for short prayers - an appeal to God or for meditation - a state of non-thinking. Stop the uncontrollable flow of internal conversation. This is the basis of a good and stable state of mind.
