Why do circumcisions

Why do circumcisions for men? What kind of ritual is this? It turns out the ritual removal of the foreskin of the male penis has deep roots. Long before the beginning of our Era, before the birth of Christ, such a tradition took place among different peoples of the Ancient World. In particular, we are talking about Egypt, the Middle East.

Circumcision, for example, testified that the boy becomes an adult and can marry, get his own family. In ancient Egypt, circumcision was performed on boys who have reached the age of fourteen. The same rite in ancient Israel made a distinction between Jews believing in Jehovah and Gentile Philistines. The Philistines themselves did not understand why the Jews were circumcised and categorically rejected this ritual.

Characteristically, the Hebrew word translated as the bridegroom has one root with the Arabic word meaning circumcision. In the Bible book of Exodus, the wife of Moses circumcises his foreskin to his son and throws her at the feet of the Lord, calling Him the Bridegroom of Blood by circumcision.

Why do circumcisions, according to the Bible , be done? Exclusively pursuing religious goals. It is noteworthy that not all researchers understand this. Allegedly, even in this way, believers propitiated some evil deity and replaced human sacrifice with this ritual.

But why guess if the Bible is the most popular book in the world? You can simply open this book and see what circumcision of the foreskin is done for. Already in the first book, Genesis can be read about this rite, and what it is intended for. Chapter 17 says that in this way God made a covenant with the people who believe in Him, while promising certain blessings.

It also says that every male infant of this nation should be circumcised on the eighth day of birth. On the eighth day, Christ himself was circumcised. That is, thus, the Jews enter the Blood Testament with God. As for the New Testament of Jesus Christ, there is no need for Christians to circumcise, because they enter into the Covenant with the Lord by faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ crucified on the cross.

This is for those who believe in Jehovah God, and why do Muslims circumcise? Some Islamic scholars believe that this ritual is required, while others call it desirable. But it is no secret that Muslims recognize the biblical patriarch Abraham as a prophet. Ibrahim (Abraham), in fact, is the ancestor of these peoples, being the father of Ishmael. The patriarch himself was circumcised at the age of 99, and Ishmael at the age of 13.

The Prophet Muhammad, according to tradition, also bequeathed the fulfillment of this ritual to the faithful Muslims. This is stated in the collections of hadiths (traditions) of Ahmad and Abu Daud. According to some theologians of Islam, circumcision is a desirable but not necessary ritual.

Why do circumcisions from the medical point of view today? The fact is that in almost half of newborns the foreskin is fused with the head of their penis. It is separated from the head by about the fourth year of the child's life, while easily pulling back. This happens normally and in the vast majority of cases. In other cases, boys are shown circumcision.

How good this is, there is no consensus. Nevertheless, from the point of view of medicine, such an operation protects men from the occurrence of pathologies characteristic of uncircumcised men. For example, circumcision is an obstacle to inflammation of the urinary tract. In any case, this question is purely individual and there are arguments testifying against this act. The circumcised flesh sometimes leads to a complete loss of sensitivity of the head of the penis, and also provokes the appearance in the folds of the skin of the organ in the region of the frenum of pathogenic bacteria.
