Irina Allegrova: biography (childhood and youth)

Irina spent her infancy in the most international of Russian cities - in Rostov-on-Don. There, the girl went to first grade. However, when she turned nine, their family moved to the capital of the Azerbaijan SSR - the city of Baku. In those days, this city was also considered international. It was peaceful, Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Russians, Georgians, Jews, etc. lived side by side. And Irina’s family, despite its Armenian origin, felt very comfortable in Baku. Her parents got a job in a musical theater: father - director, and mother - singer. In their hospitable house, there were often Soviet stars such as Muslim Magomayev, Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, who also lived in Baku in those years. Allegrova’s biography, in a word, began in a creative environment, and the fact that Irina later became seriously interested in music was more a regularity than a surprise.

From early childhood, the girl studied at a music school, in the piano class, went to classes in a ballet school, and also attended a drawing club. As a high school student , she took part in a jazz festival and took second place of honor. In 1969, young Irina, after leaving school, decides to go to the conservatory, however, due to her illness, she misses exams. She gets a job at the Rashid Beibutov song theater and, as part of it, makes a tour in some cities of the USSR. A year later, she receives an invitation from Konstantin Orbelian to sing as a soloist in the legendary jazz ensemble of Armenia and goes to Yerevan. So Irina - an Armenian by birth - finally gets to the capital of Armenia, to her historical homeland, but not like Irina Sarkisova, but like Allegrova. Her biography, however, did not briefly connect her with this city. Almost at the same time, she marries basketball player Georgy Tairov. She later admits that she took this step because of unrequited love for another guy. Due to pregnancy, she has to briefly leave the stage. At 19, she gives birth to a daughter Lalu. But Irina soon divorced her father.
