However, maintaining peace in a home is sometimes difficult. The family is overcome by troubles and difficulties, failures and quarrels occur. How to prevent this? Our ancestors knew how to defend themselves from various misfortunes. To do this, they used amulets (amulets, talismans). These are some things or secret artifacts, which were attributed to magical powers that can bring happiness to the house and protect against loss.

On top of the bags were decorated with pebbles and herbs, which also had their own significance. Inside them were placed:
- a pin that protected from the evil eye;
- a coin with which financial abundance should come in the family;
- grains - for prosperity;
- pre-dried mint leaves for comfort and harmony;
- sunflower seeds symbolizing the continuation of the genus.
Putting all this in a bag, he was tied with red thread and hung in any places, but most often near the front door.
Special symbol - horseshoe
Charms and their significance for Slavic families were very different. The most powerful of them was considered a talisman, which served as a horseshoe. This family amulet in ancient times was an adornment of almost any home. Our ancestors believed that a horseshoe brings good luck to the house and protects from all misfortunes and troubles. In addition, this amulet does not allow dark vibrations and negative energy to enter the home, while maintaining a good atmosphere in it.
Today, finding a horseshoe on the road is a rarity. But those who are lucky to see this item must definitely bring it to the house. They hang a horseshoe over the front door, observing certain rules. What are they?

In Russia, a horseshoe was an object that made it possible to frighten away demons and avoid diseases and misfortunes. That is why it was revered in the villages of blacksmiths. That is why the Kolovrat is able to protect its owner from dark forces and free his soul from all that is useless, which interferes with a happy life.
Kolovrat belongs to the group of Slavic guard symbols. Moreover, there are more than a hundred options for its image. So, a pattern with diverging four rays symbolizes the power of fire, with six - the power of the god Perun, and with eight - all the gods of the ancient Slavs.
This amulet of family happiness can be worn by both women and men, but only in different versions. They differ in the direction of the rays. Thus, images on amulets for men are rays directed clockwise, and for women - against it.

The role of amulets was performed by these objects among different peoples who inhabited our planet. But nevertheless, among the Slavs, as a talisman, the broom occupied a special place.
