Flamingos are amazing birds that are found in nature. Similar to herons and storks, they still have distinctive features that are not inherent in any other bird on the planet. Firstly, this is an unusual color of feathers, and secondly, the beak. It is bent, large and, in all probability, very powerful. Today we will plunge into the world of creativity and learn how to draw a flamingo. And in order for everything to work out in the best possible way, you don’t need so much: a good mood, a bit of patience, concentration, a simple pencil and a sheet of paper.

In today's flamingo lesson, we will draw on a full sheet. To do this, the paper should be placed vertically. Well, now let's start directly to create:
- In the upper right corner of the sheet, we mark a place for the future head of a flamingo. At the same time, one should not forget that in no case can it be made large, otherwise drawing a flamingo as a real one will not work. We try to depict a neat little oval, leaving enough space on the side under the bird's beak. By the way, the oval should be drawn as if it was lying on its long side. Then, in parallel to him, we will depict a similar figure, but much larger.
- We proceed to the next step, namely, we begin to draw the body of a flamingo. Below the first sketch, almost in the center of the sheet, you need to draw an oval too, which later turns into the body of a flamingo. We do not lose sight of the fact that the figure should be large enough, because in a real bird this part of the body is the most voluminous.
How to draw a flamingo: a step-by-step guide
Flamingos are not like other storks, they have features that should be given attention.
In order to draw a flamingo like a living one, that is, as accurately as possible to repeat the smooth outlines of its graceful bends, it is worthwhile to look carefully at the very first photo presented in the article again. Pay attention to the long neck of the bird, and now try to transfer what you saw to the sheet of paper as accurately as possible. We connect the upper oval with the lower smooth curved line, and parallel to it we draw exactly the same. If everything is done correctly, then the flamingo neck is ready.
The final step in this stage will be the image of the legs of the bird. They are long with knees curved in an unusual direction. Outline their calculation so that the legs should occupy as much space on the sheet as the head, neck and torso.
How to draw the rest of the body?
Now we begin to draw the beak of the bird. Flamingo's beak is unusual. We will try to depict it correctly. To draw flamingos with a pencil, like a professional artist, you need to carefully approach this part of the drawing, because the pink beak has a really special beak. It is a cross between the parrot "nose" and the beak of a toucan. The main distinguishing feature is downward bending.
We arrange the wing along the bottom of the large oval, smoothly extending beyond its contour in the area of the tail of the bird.

- Let's start with the legs of a flamingo. This bird has membranes between the fingers, so we clearly draw three fingers and connect them at the top with arched lines curved down. We pay great attention to the knees of the bird. We draw them as a joint of two thin bones.
- We decorate the entire wing with small feathers, the tips of which are directed down.
- You shouldn’t depict many feathers on the bird’s neck, because drawing them like a real flamingo still doesn’t work. In nature, the pink beauty has very densely arranged feathers on this part of the body and gives the impression of an absolutely flat surface.
- It is worth drawing lines from the bird’s eye to the beak to subsequently leave this place of white color unadorned. Such a move will bring the flamingo drawn to the original as close as possible.
