glue the toilet

Method 1

Ingredients:

  • pure water;
  • borax;
  • casein;
  • formalin or aluminum alum.

After mixing the main portion of the components, a little more water is added to the mixture. To give the composition a water resistance property, which is especially important when working with plumbing, take 3-4 drops of formalin or aluminum alum. The resulting composition lends itself to complete hardening after 120-180 minutes.

Method 2. Based on shellac and turpentine

Another option than ceramics can be glued together.

Ingredients:

  • turpentine;
  • light shellac.

Combine the components and place the container on a slow fire. The mixture requires cooking until shellac has completely melted. During cooking, the glue is constantly stirred until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. This composition hardens longer, because it can be prepared as a fallback. The mixture is allowed to cool and, divided by portions, placed in storage or used to treat cracks or chips of the toilet.

As necessary, it is heated and applied with a thin layer on the surfaces to be bonded. As a result, the parts are compressed with reinforcement, which ensures their tight grip. The remaining adhesive should be wiped off immediately.

Method 3. Based on lime, chalk and water glass

Please note that this glue should be prepared immediately before application, as it quickly sets.

Ingredients:

  • quicklime;
  • a piece of chalk;
  • liquid glass.

All components are mixed and used to restore the toilet from ceramics or earthenware.

Now you know how to glue a ceramic toilet bowl, and you can easily put into practice the recipes described above.

How to carry out the procedure

The process is simple, and the technology consists of several simple steps. Phasedly, it looks like this:

  1. Assemble all the parts that you want to connect. If you are re-gluing a broken cup or vase, then it is worth removing the remnants of the substance from the previous time. To do this, use a knife.
  2. Rinse the parts in warm water using a dishwashing detergent or other gel-like substance (shower gel, shampoo, etc.). After that, rinse the fragments, set them aside until they are completely dry, but do not wipe them, as you may injure yourself against sharp edges or break small corners.
  3. Fold all the parts to stick together like a puzzle.
  4. Joints process with acetone.
  5. Apply glue to the bonding points with a thin layer using a brush or a stick to clean the ears.
  6. Leave the first coat to dry.
  7. Apply a second coat and press the adhesive parts together (hold for several seconds). Having taken a rag, remove the remains of mix.
  8. Then connect the glued part with another shard (it is advisable to do this after a while so that the previous parts stick well).
  9. Lock the product well. This will ensure a firm grip.
