Alexey Mogilevsky was born in a year that in underground circles, where he will become known after a while, will be called a turning point. 1961 - no matter how you turn it, it's all one. Two months after his birth, Gagarin will fly into space, but unlike many boys, this one will not want to become an astronaut - he will choose the profession of “head of pop bands”, and in fact he will become saxophonist of the “star-gold” composition Nautilus Pompilius, having managed before that, imbued with a rebellious spirit in "Oorfene Deuce" and "Flag."
Biography
When they talk about “Nau”, the first thing they remember is Vyacheslav Butusov, the second is Ilya Kormiltsev, and meanwhile Aleksey Mogilevsky gave the band not only his sound, but also part of his heart. Moreover, he quietly but impressively influenced her history, leading, for example, to her revived composition of “her” guitarist Nikolai Petrov. Although, in fairness, it should be noted that he never belonged to her entirely - even being part of the main structure, he was engaged in his own projects. Yes, and got into it, in fact, completely by accident, as he himself claims. After the paths of the musicians of one of the most cult groups in Russian rock parted, he took up the "Association for Promoting the Return of Lost Youth to the Path of Virtue" (hello to Herbert Wales from the Soviet public) in earnest. It is funny, but already closer to the age of fifty, the respectable Mogilevsky Alexei Yuryevich stopped drinking anything alcoholic in general and was actively engaged in returning all members of his group to a sober path. For a saxophonist this is important - even in the era of turbulent youth, the musician consciously refused alcohol before concerts in order to maintain the sensitivity of his lips. So he has every right to instruct the youth, which he realized by releasing six cheerful albums (not justifying the nicknames of his “Grave”) from 1986 to 1991.
"Wings"
In general, the composition of the group worked quite successfully. The “Cage for the Little One” album even went on a concert tour, which at that time was an achievement. True, then the “Association” again switched to the studio mode and remained in it, oddly enough, until the very “Wings” - that iconic Nautilos album when Mogilevsky returned to their composition. He later “surfaced” along with a group that his native fateful environment did not want to let go into the dark depths - for example, when they were gathered by a talented manager Mikhail Kozyrev or at a reporting concert in honor of a decade. But at the same time, Alexei Mogilevsky himself did not perceive Nautilus Pompilius as a group. Rather, as a person, but it broke up in the 90s.
Versatility
In general, the influence of Nautilus on him was great, and especially on a personal level. As Alexey Mogilevsky himself said, it was Butusov who threw him into the midst of aesthetes and Protestants, turning the impressionable consciousness from Soviet values ​​into a completely different area. As a guest musician, you can’t get anywhere from your creative spirit and desire to perform, just like your dream of making your own music - not soundtracks, despite the love for them, and not other accompaniment, but real art. From time to time, Alexei Mogilevsky returns to this idea, but still remains a monk from composing and creates - but all this for the time being did not go beyond his cell. Until 2014, he believed that playing "for money" would not work, and calling someone from modern musicians into a project without financial support was dishonest. Moreover, for the creator of his age, the prefix “retro” is inevitable, but the musician could not do something with the fact that he does not consider himself to be such.

Aleksey Mogilevsky “Nautilus” could not accept only Vyacheslav Butusov, although this opinion becomes more and more common: the further the history of the group goes, the more clearly one person is visible in it. Perhaps that is why he created the photo album "Rockman", deliberately taking the name of a word coined once by Vyacheslav Butusov, and filled it out on the basis of exclusively personal preferences. Probably this is what made the book extremely interesting - rare photographs, a minimum of text. Pure photo art mixed with nostalgia and soft sadness.
