Pilaf - one of the favorite dishes of all - just like many others, you can cook in a slow cooker. "Miracle Pan" will allow you to do this without unnecessary trouble. Pilaf in the Panasonic cooker will surely turn out tasty and aromatic, will not burn and will not boil. You can go about your business while this assistant is preparing dinner for you.
I want to describe a common method among modern housewives to cook such a dish as pilaf in the Panasonic cooker, but I will refer to my personal preferences.
Most often it is prepared using pork, which allows it to be more fat and viscous. But you can change the recipe at your discretion, taking a different type of meat. It is acceptable to cook pilaf from beef, lamb and even poultry. I’ll tell you one personal secret - I like to add chicken hearts to the dish instead of meat . Pilaf with them is one of my teenage son's favorite dishes. There are recipes even with seafood. Of course, this is a departure from the classical method, but cooking in a slow cooker is also not a standard approach. As you know, a real pilaf is cooked in a special bowl - a cauldron.
Ingredients
The composition of the products in order to cook pilaf in the Panasonic-18 multicooker is usually similar in recipes of various hostesses. To begin, prepare the necessary products. We will need:
- meat (or meat products) - 0.5 kg;
- 1 onion;
- 1 carrot;
- vegetable oil;
- rice (2 glasses for a slow cooker);
- water (4 of the same glass);
- salt, spices, garlic or bay leaf.
As spices, you can use the ready-made mix of seasonings for pilaf, which I usually do. This is an optional condition - you can add spices at your discretion, guided by your taste preferences. As a rule, they add pepper (red, maybe even hot, in pods), cumin (aka zira), saffron (to give the dish a golden color), which can be replaced with more available turmeric, and barberry. But, I repeat, the presence of all these seasonings is completely optional. The products are ready, we turn to the question of how to cook pilaf in the Panasonic cooker.
Training
The meat must be cut into small pieces. If, using my personal recipe, you cook pilaf from chicken hearts or any other products that are initially small in size, then cutting them smaller is not necessary. Onions are also finely chopped. Rub carrots on a coarse grater. We wash the rice. By the way, round-grain rice is most often used for pilaf. The preparation for preparing a dish such as pilaf in the Panasonic cooker is finished! Processing garlic, if you add it to the dish, at your discretion. I prefer to put it on top of the whole, so I do not peel the garlic, just free it from the husk. You can peel and put whole peeled cloves, or you can peel and grind after. Adding garlic to a dish is optional.
Cooking
The most common way to prepare a dish such as pilaf in a Panasonic cooker is to pre-fry meat, onions and carrots in vegetable oil. To do this, you can fry the meat first, and then add the remaining products to it, or you can immediately place all of the listed ingredients in the heated oil. You can also fry in the slow cooker using the "Baking" mode. I prefer not to fry meat and vegetables at all - I put them in the multicooker bowl in the following order: meat, onions, carrots, without stirring, raw and start cooking. Prepared rice, salt, spices, garlic and bay leaf are laid on top of vegetables, water is poured. Next - again, the approach of your choice. Most often, all the ingredients are mixed. I prefer not to mix, but leave everything in layers. By the way, in the classic recipe for cooking pilaf in a cauldron, the products also do not mix. Next, close the multicooker lid and set the "Pilaf" mode. The time in this mode the multicooker sets itself. Control of cooking is not required. This will be done by the "smart saucepan". All! The dish is ready! Wait for the signal. If you have not mixed the ingredients, then do it now. Leave the pilaf for several minutes in the heating mode - and you can start the meal.
