Iman is a belief, a belief that the Supreme Lord and His prophets exist, and all that was revealed by Him or revealed by God through His prophets. This term is used in the religion of Islam, which, in turn, means following the commandments of Allah with faith and humility.
What is iman?
Iman is the basis of all Islam. This is the main mission of every Muslim and the main science that every believer must understand.
What does iman mean? This is an irrefutable conviction that Allah exists, that He is the Lord and Lord of all, the Only Creator and Manager of this universe. Allah is the only one worthy to be worshiped. No one can surpass Him or be equal to Him. These beliefs and lay Iman. Faith in Allah must be present in the heart of every person. The names and qualities of Allah are so beautiful that He does not have any imperfections or shortcomings.
Faith in the Lord is the first pillar of iman
Iman (translation: "faith") lives in the soul of every person. All the creations of the Lord, especially people, are created so that their soul is filled with faith in the Lord. Instinctively, everyone is aware of the greatness of the Creator. In order to believe in the Lord, a person does not need to work intellectually or ask to be taught to believe. The only thing that can affect a person’s faith is external circumstances (poor education, social structure, public opinion). Allah himself in the Qur'an says that iman is an innate quality with which He created all people.
Every child is born with faith in the Creator. That is, an iman lives in every person from birth. Its significance is great, but not everyone can understand it. Parents or society make a person a follower of one or another religious movement. In the Holy Books of Muslims it is said that no other religion besides Islam gives a person a natural worldview. From birth, human consciousness is distorted by its parents and educators. The harmony of faith in children is broken.
Creation Myths Destroy Faith
Reflecting on the creation of all things, a person can make several guesses that all this arose by chance, no one created anything. But common sense does not allow to accept this nonsense. Everyone knows that any thing cannot occur on its own.
There is another erroneous opinion that everything is created by itself. This idea is held by those who deify nature, not fully realizing that it is also a creation of the Lord. From such people you can often hear "created by nature", "so arranged by nature."
Since both opinions are absurd, we can conclude that all things have a creator, and this is Allah himself. But He Himself always existed, the Lord has no beginning and no end, He is eternal.
The Second Pillar of Iman - Faith in Angels
Iman is faith. One can believe not only in the existence of the Creator, but also in His assistants - angels. Angels are the creatures of Allah, which are hidden from human eyes. They always serve and help the Lord. Despite this, angels do not possess divine dominion and do not require self-worship. They themselves do not allow people to worship themselves.
By the grace of Allah, the angels are endowed with the qualities of absolute devotion and submission to the Lord. They also have tremendous power, which enables them to fulfill all the instructions of the Most High.
Iman (in Russian - faith) in angels consists of the following beliefs:
- The belief that they exist.
- Belief in Djibril, Malik, Michael and other angels, whose names can be found in the Qur'an.
- Belief in their qualities and power.
- Belief in the angelic deeds that are performed by them at the direction of Allah. For example, the glorification of the names of the Most High, the worship of Him throughout the day.
Faith in angels leads to the following results:
- The knowledge of the greatness of the Lord is transmitted to man. Realizing the greatness of His creation, we can instantly imagine how great and powerful the Lord is.
- A person has gratitude to the Lord for taking care of us. Angels are always on guard, protecting a person from many dangers and making his life on earth better.
- Love for angels helps a person to approach the Lord.
Faith in the Holy Books
Iman is not only faith in Allah. The third pillar of the iman is faith in the Scriptures, in which everything about the Lord is told. When it comes to faith in books, this implies faith in those Scriptures that Allah left for his messengers as a special mercy for all mankind. This is a reliable guide for future generations so that they can achieve real happiness in the kingdom of the Lord.
The main purpose of sending the Books was to persuade people about the proper worship of Allah. These Books should become the law in the life of every person. Guided by them, everyone can receive great blessings in all worlds. The scriptures help people to purify themselves and fully realize their divine nature.
Beliefs:
- Belief that the Books are sent down by Allah himself.
- Belief in their name, for example the Koran, Ingil, Taurat, Zabur.
- The books of Allah are Truth.
- The Qur'an contains the eternal Laws of Allah, so all previous Scriptures can be rejected.
What are the benefits of faith in the books?
- A person has a belief that Allah cares for all living beings. The fact that He sent down Books containing a direct guide to life is a testimony of His boundless mercy.
- The wisdom of Allah is unsurpassed. He transmitted to people only the Laws that they most needed.
- Belief in Books helps a person to get rid of attachment to personal addictions.
The Fourth Pillar - Faith in the Messengers of the Lord
The messengers of Allah are called people who are sent to the earth with Sharia, calling to follow him. The first messenger is Noah, the last is Muhammad.
Messengers are people with a specific mission. But they should not be worshiped and considered their divine personalities. Human conditionality is not alien to them. They are also mortal and susceptible to disease.
Risal is provided only to the elite. A person cannot acquire this degree on his own. No personal effort will help.
Beliefs, as a result of faith in the messengers:
- The mission of the messengers is true. He who does not believe in at least one messenger will not be able to believe in the others. Who blames one of the messengers blames them all.
- One should believe in the messengers whose names are known from the Scriptures.
- Unconditional faith in what the prophets told.
- The last prophet was Muhammad.
The fruits of faith in the Prophet:
- The knowledge of the boundless mercy and care of Allah is transmitted to man.
- People have gratitude for caring for them to the Lord.
- Love and veneration of the messengers.
Judgment Day - The Fifth Pillar of Iman
Everyone must believe that sooner or later the Day of Judgment will come and everyone will have to stand before the Lord and answer for all deeds done. This day is also called the End of the World, since this is the last day on this planet. Then people will occupy their original eternal position, someone in paradise, and someone in hell.
Belief in the End of the World implies the actions of a person who is convinced that this day will come and he will have to answer before the Lord.
When the Great Day comes, the resurrection of all the dead will take place and all of humanity will appear before the Lord. This indicates the special wisdom of Allah, who made it so that all people will return to life and receive reward for the performance of their duties in accordance with the divine Laws. Each person will have the opportunity to receive a report on his deeds, and everyone on this day will receive what he has prepared for himself.
Belief in predestination
Predestination is the measure established by Allah on the existence of everything in this world in accordance with the Laws of the Lord.
Predestination consists of the knowledge of Allah about all that was, is and will be. All information is recorded in the Stored Tablet. The book was compiled before this world was created. It records everything that Allah wanted to translate into reality.
Creation itself is the crown of predestination when the desires of Allah are embodied in this world.
To believe in predestination means to realize that the Lord knows everything, that nothing is hidden from Him and that all His will is.
