If you often play powerful games or for some reason you are not satisfied with the regular cooling of the computer, you will now learn how to make a water cooling system with your own hands. Buying ready-made is an expensive pleasure, and not everyone can afford it. It is much easier to purchase the necessary parts and do everything yourself. The Internet describes many different ways, but we will focus on the most optimal of them (in my opinion).
The main task is to remove the cooling radiator along with the pump and expansion tank to the balcony. In order for water cooling of the computer with your own hands to work effectively, you need to move the computer to the corner closest to the balcony. Using a hammer drill, two holes must be drilled into which two hoses are pushed. One of them will be a supply hose, and the other will be a return hose. You also need to hold a 12V cable from the computer power supply to the balcony.
Next, do-it-yourself water cooling requires the following actions. This will be the connection of the water block with the expansion tank. We fasten both to that, and to the other union with the help of FUM tape. Pass the cable and hoses into the drilled holes. With the help of a hot air gun they are put on a radiator, they can dress without a hair dryer on a pump with a water block and an expansion tank. If you coat the compounds with silicone, it will be just great. All hoses are clamped with car clamps. In total, they will need six pieces.
To make water cooling with your own hands more efficient, I advise you to fill in it with car antifreeze as a coolant. All accessories that are on the balcony, it is better to put in a half-box made. As a material suitable advertising plastic, which is connected using superglue.
Now you need to pass the hoses into the computer case. This is done through the back wall by removing the plugs. The water block must be lubricated with thermal grease, then fix it to the processor. Everything, water cooling do it yourself!
This system has been working for me for three months without any complaints. But it is fair to say that at first I installed transparent hoses made of silicone, and instead of antifreeze, distilled water was filled in the system . After a month of operation, the water became rusty, and the nozzles, due to their flexibility, were completely bent. After that, it was decided to replace all silicone pipes with reinforced ones, while the system was completely rinsed. Corrosion appeared as a result of contact of the radiator with water.
After modernization, this do-it-yourself water cooling provides the processor temperature within 25 degrees Celsius. And when the window is cold and the balcony window is open for ventilation, the processor does not heat above 15 degrees.
Of course, such DIY water cooling has another advantage. When buying a new computer, you do not have to make any fundamental changes to its cooling system. All the basic elements will be on your balcony. Use for health!
