Replacing valve stem seals VAZ is carried out in a specific order. First of all, the wire is disconnected from the negative terminal of the battery. After that, remove the toothed pulley from the camshaft. Next, the head cover is removed.
After that, unscrew the fixing nuts of the βgroundβ wires and remove the tips from the studs. After that, it is necessary to unscrew the nuts and the bolt in the fastening of the back cover on the block head. Pay attention to the o-ring installed under the bolt head. Next, you must evenly unscrew the nuts on the front and rear bearing housings and the camshaft. After that, both cases are removed. If the key is positioned loosely in the groove of the camshaft, then it should be removed (so as not to lose).
The next steps will be: removing the camshaft from the cylinder head and the oil seal from the camshaft.
Next, the crankshaft must be rotated to position the piston, which corresponds to the oil seals of the VAZ, located at the dead center (top). After the candle is turned out, it is recommended to insert a tin rod through the hole between the valve and the piston. So the valve will not fall down.
Using a special tool, compress the valve springs, then use a pair of tweezers to remove the crackers. Then you need to remove the upper spring plate, the outer and inner valve springs.
Replacing the valve stem seals begins by pressing from the valve sleeve guide. To do this, install the collet of a special device. After installing it on the cap, it should be struck sharply on the bushing with a striker, and then on the striker of the handle of the device used. If there is no adaptation, you can use pliers. It should be said that in this case, replacing the valve stem seals will become a relatively laborious task. When work is done using pliers, the force exerted must be applied exclusively upwards. The main task is to prevent turning so as not to damage the guide bushings.
The valve stem seals are replaced after the spring has been removed from them. So you can avoid damage when they pass through the grooves on the valves under the crackers.
The valve stem seals are replaced using engine oil. Before installation, it is recommended to dip the elements into it. Then it should be installed in the mandrel.
After installation, carefully press the cap into the lower plate until it stops. After that it is necessary to install the spring (if it was removed).
All actions should be repeated for each cap.
In the reverse order of removal, install the valve disc and springs. Using a special device, you need to put crackers. They should take place in the grooves of the valve rod. In order to condense the crackers (so that they sit in their place), you should carefully hit the ends of the valves with a hammer through a metal rod.
Cams and necks of a camshaft need to be greased with oil (motor). Support surfaces intended for the camshaft journal in the cylinder head and bearing housings should also be treated.
The camshaft is mounted in the block head bearings in such a way that the cams in the first cylinder have a direction away from the valve pushers.
Sealant must be applied to the block head. The zone of the extreme camshaft bearings should be tight.
Then it is necessary to install the camshaft and bearing housings, put washers on the studs, and tighten the nuts. Tighten the mount in two stages. You must first tighten the nuts until the bearing housings touch the surface of the head. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the guide bushings enter completely into the holes of the bearing housings. After that, the nuts are tightened completely. Further, all parts are installed in the reverse order of removal.
