The Higher School of Television of Moscow State University is one of the modern structural divisions of Moscow University. The faculty annually graduates qualified specialists. About faculty
The faculty of television began its educational activities in 2008, although it was created two years earlier. The first graduation of students studying at the undergraduate level was in 2012, but the faculty released the first undergraduates in 2010. To date, about 200 students are studying at the Higher School of Economics at the Moscow State University.
Structural units
There are only 2 departments in the structure of the faculty:
- journalism and television;
- literature.

Training courses
On the basis of the faculty, a number of educational projects are carried out aimed at preparing an applicant for admission to Moscow State University, namely, for the delivery of a creative competition. A creative competition is mandatory for DVI when entering the Higher School of Economics of Moscow State University. DVI training courses run from September to May. The cost of training is 42,000 rubles. In order to start training, an applicant must submit a set of documents, as well as pay for the entire period of study. Payment is one-time. The set of documents includes a passport, a certificate confirming that the student is studying at school in grade 11, the passport of the parent who pays, as well as 2 photographs of the appropriate size. Educational programs
The faculty implements educational programs at the 1st and 2nd levels of higher education. The educational program presented at the baccalaureate is the main educational direction of preparation “Television”.
The educational program presented in the magistracy is the main educational "Television production and broadcasting", the direction of preparation is "Television".
In 2018, 12 budget places and 25 paid ones were allocated for the undergraduate direction. For the master's program, the figures are as follows: 10 people can go to budget places and 25 vacant places for students who will need to pay tuition. The cost of training at both levels of education is 350,500 rubles per year.
Entrance exams
For admission to the bachelor's program at the Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University, an applicant needs to pass state exams in such subjects of the curriculum as Russian, literature, and history. In addition, applicants must successfully pass a creative competition held directly by Moscow State University. The purpose of the entrance test is to identify creativity in the applicant. The entrance test takes place both in written and oral form. The preparation program for the entrance test is laid out in the section for applicants on the faculty website.
For admission to the master's program, a successful test on the profile of “Theory and Practice of Television” is required. The exam is in writing.
Passing points
In 2017, the passing score, which allowed applicants to go to budget places in the areas of preparation for the Higher School of Television, was 339. The maximum possible number of points that an applicant could score was 400. This value consists of the sums of 3 state exams, as well as DVI from Moscow State University, which also has a maximum score of 100 points.
Passing scores at the Higher School of Economics are quite high among all the indicators of the faculties of Moscow State University.
Practice
In order for students to be ready for the practical activities of the chosen profession, during the training at the faculty they undergo practical training several times. For students of the 1st year of undergraduate and graduate courses, a special training television studio has been created in which students can hone their skills, as well as put the acquired knowledge into practice.
At the 2nd and 3rd year of undergraduate students undergo practical training in leading media holdings, for example, VGTRK. Students get the opportunity to do internships on such TV channels as: "Russia 1", Russia Today, "Russia 22," Russia Culture ", etc.
Dormitories
Nonresident students who enrolled in full-time education and budget places receive the opportunity to live in a student dormitory of Moscow State University. The hostel building is located at the following address: 37 Vernadsky Avenue.
Full-time students of the paid department also get the opportunity to stay in a student dormitory, but for an additional fee. The student hostel is located at the address: Leninsky mountains, house 1.
Student dormitories assigned to Moscow State University are fully equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay of students. The hostels have gyms, free Wi-Fi access.
Additional education
In addition to the basic educational programs, the Higher School of Economics works on continuing education programs. One of them is called “Public Speaking Technique”. Unlike graduates from other universities, all graduates of Moscow State University receive a green diploma. Graduates who have completed all exams perfectly receive a red diploma.
