A carburetor is the foundation of each vehicleโs fuel system . On all VAZ vehicles of the eighth and ninth family, the well-known Solex carburetor 21083 is used by everyone, the main task of which is to prepare a combustible mixture for its further supply to the engine combustion chamber. In other words, this device is used to mix gasoline with air in certain proportions. What is noteworthy, for 1 cubic centimeter of fuel carburetor 21083 delivers 15 cubic centimeters of oxygen. The G8 rides on virtually air alone.
Carburetor VAZ-21083: device
This mechanism includes the following elements:
- Econostat.
- Float mechanism.
- Transitional system of the secondary chamber.
- The main dosing system of the primary and secondary chambers.
- Economizer with pneumatic control.
- Flap control mechanism.
- Accelerator pump.
- EPHC system.
- Starting device.
- Crankcase ventilation system.
Solex itself consists of two parts - the upper and lower, in which all of the above elements and mechanisms are fixed.
Below we will consider what the main elements of this carburetor are for.
Using a special pump, gasoline is pumped from the fuel tank along the highways into the float chamber. The latter is a small container for temporary storage of liquid. Using a float, the system controls the level of fuel supply to the chamber. This part must always be adjusted. Otherwise, the air-fuel mixture will be excessively enriched, and the G8 will consume 10-20 percent more gasoline that the VAZ-21083 carburetor prepares. The adjustment of the float should always be done as soon as the vehicle begins to consume more fuel. It is also worth noting that after a long downtime, the gasoline level is rapidly falling, which is why it is impossible to start the engine. In this case, motorists recommend manually pumping fuel into the carburetor of the 21083th VAZ using the lever on the gasoline pump.
As we know, the more oxygen moves, the more fuel it can pick up. For this, there is just a diffuser in the carburetor system. It is a small part, tapering near the hole that leads into the float chamber. The accelerator pump is a device that increases the power of the motor when you press the gas pedal.
The air damper (suction) also plays an important role in the fuel supply system. This part is located at the top of the carburetor. It serves to regulate the flow of oxygen that enters the system from the air filter. Thanks to the air damper, the car starts easier in the winter, as well as after a long cooling of the internal combustion engine.
Using a throttle valve, the optimum amount of fuel enters the carburetor of the 21083th VAZ. This mechanism is connected to the gas pedal in the passenger compartment, and each time it is pressed, it increases the fluid flow.
