Normal computer temperature

There is no such person who would not be familiar with the symptoms that accompany colds - loss of strength and fever . Sometimes the latter reaches such high values (up to 40 degrees Celsius) that it is necessary to take measures to reduce it. But if this is quite familiar and familiar, then the owners of computers will be interested to know that sometimes even the temperature of the computer rises.

computer temperature
Although this has little to do with human diseases, excessive heating also requires monitoring and (sometimes) interference with the components.

At first glance, it might seem that figuring out why the temperature of a computer rises and what to do with it is the prerogative of service center employees. This is not entirely true. Workshops can be compared to hospitals. And independent control and the adoption of simple measures, thanks to which the temperature of the computer remains within acceptable limits, with prevention. Well, the latter, as you know, is more preferable.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to indicate what the normal temperature of the computer is. This is influenced by the class of installed components - powerful ones generate more heat and for them the concept of an acceptable norm is higher. Roughly we can assume that the value of 70 degrees is the limit. Accordingly, the norm is up to 50 Celsius. More details are discussed below.

normal computer temperature
Why is the temperature of the computer increasing? It's simple: inside the system unit or laptop case are electronic components that emit heat during operation. This is easy to understand if you remember that the electric current passing through the conductor causes the latter to heat up. By the way, that is why many have high hopes for quantum computers in which this phenomenon is absent.

The main sources of heating are: a video card (especially discrete models), a central processor, some elements of the motherboard.

The first two of these components consist of millions of transistors, each of which emits a little heat during operation. For its removal, cooling devices are placed on the devices - a metal radiator and a blowing fan. By the way, the noise of a working computer arises precisely because of the air flows from the rotating blades. Then everything is simple: when the cooling system is covered with dust (which is inevitable), the heat sink efficiency decreases and the heating level increases.

The result is as follows:

- reduced performance of the entire system;

- spontaneous reboots, frequent freezes and other failures;

- distortion on the screen;

- the impossibility of loading, if you use the corresponding item in the BIOS settings;

- failure of components.

This is what excessive computer temperatures can cause. A program to check heating levels is called AIDA. This is a powerful diagnostic application that can "tell" about all the features of the installed components, including their temperature.

computer temperature program

After downloading, installing and starting, it is necessary to select the "Sensor" item in the "Computer" section in the program. The current temperatures of the main components: circuit board, processor, video card, hard drive will be displayed.

So, “PCH diode” indicates the heating of the main board, it should not be higher than 65 degrees; “CPU Package” - a central processor, not higher than 70 Celsius (can be viewed separately for the cores); “GP diode” is a video card, not more than 70. To find out the exact values of permissible temperatures for installed components, you should go to the manufacturers' websites, indicate the type of component and read the permissible heating values. For example, if an Intel processor is installed in the computer, then you should go to the corresponding website, indicate the type (for example, Corei3-2120), and find the permissible heating temperature in the specification table.
