The fastest and most powerful, and therefore the most expensive car on the planet, whose operation is allowed on all public highways, is the Bugatti Veyron. This car is named after the legendary racer Pierre Veyron, who in the same car became the triumph of the Le Mans race, which took place back in 1939. The model debuted in 1999 during the Tokyo Motor Show. Its visitors were shown the conceptual version of the car with an engine of 6.3 liters and a capacity of 555 "horses". It should be noted that the W-shaped motor had 18 cylinders located in three separate blocks.

Two years after that, at the Geneva exhibition, the company exhibited an almost completely revised modification. Under its hood, a power plant appeared, consisting of two V-shaped “eights”. The appearance of the novelty, which has become really similar to a sports car, has also changed significantly. Serial production of the Bugatti Veyron, whose price is about 1.7 million euros, was supposed to start in 2003, but this period was repeatedly shifted due to the need for improvements. They were mainly associated with problems that appeared when driving at a speed of about 350 km / h due to the not entirely correct functioning of the wing. Since then, the model has been improved repeatedly. The last of the variations of the car sample in 2013 was called "Bugatti Super Veyron."
The car weighs almost two tons. Most of this mass falls on the power plant, which is capable of developing a “hundred” from a standstill in just two and a half seconds. To reach the mark of 200 km / h, the car needs 7.3 seconds, and 300 km / h - 16.7 seconds. Despite such stunning abilities “Bugatti Veyron”, it is impossible not to note her ride at relatively low speeds. For driving at 250 km / h, the car uses only 270 horsepower. The corresponding indicator is displayed on a special sensor on the dashboard, which has a scale of 1001 divisions.

An interesting engineering solution for the model was the closure of diffusers mounted on the front bumper. This can significantly reduce air resistance. This also contributes to the aerodynamic spoiler. The Bugatti Veyron is not only the fastest production car in history, but also the most dynamic. On the other hand, the car is also distinguished by huge fuel consumption. Its maximum value per hundred kilometers (with a fully open throttle) is 125 liters. At the same time, the actual consumption under standard conditions for the urban cycle was declared by the manufacturer to be 40.4 liters, for mixed - 24.1 liters, and for the highway - 14.7 liters.

For daily use, the vehicle has a speed limit of 337 km / h. To enable the Bugatti Veyron to achieve higher performance, you must first activate the corresponding mode due to a special key. The electronic speed limiter in the car is at around 407 km / h. The model is equipped with carbon-ceramic brake discs and calipers for eight pistons. This allows for a complete stop at maximum speed in just ten seconds. Moreover, the car on its braking distance is constantly on a straight path, even if the driver releases the steering wheel.
