Polemicity is the correctness of actions during a dispute. The main role is given to the subject of the dispute, which should always be taken into account. In the role of the subject are any topics that can be discussed. It is best to have an idea about the subject before the polemic begins to present it to the opponent. Often things can very quickly succeed each other within a dispute, so itโs important to keep track of your thoughts in the stream of words.
How to argue?
Polemicity of speech and success in a subsequent dispute are two factors that are closely related. It is best to show the opponent before the start of the argument that you are a fairly educated person and know what you are talking about. However, do not pour a lot of abstruse definitions. It will look ridiculous. It is also important to pay attention to your behavior, it should be calm and adequate.
In order to correctly understand in which direction the dispute is going, it is worth catching all the opponentโs words, watching for minor changes in the debate.
The main rule of the dispute of any type and duration is respect for the one with whom communication takes place. So a person shows his development and experience, because he knows how to take into account the opinions of others and respects beliefs.
Polemic includes
Polemicity is a rather multifaceted process. At the heart of the dispute culture:
- the ability to always follow the subject;
- the ability to choose the most solid and reasonable position;
- knowledge of certain terms and theories to provide evidence;
- tracking the choice of the opponent, his tactics;
- rivals should be of approximately equal ability in relation to controversy;
- respect towards the opponent, which will not be simulated;
- not to allow personal insults, as they can even lead to fists.
The laws
There are a number of formal logical laws that are important in a dispute:
- Identity - any expressed thought during the discussion of it should not lose its original meaning. Any words should correspond directly to the general mood expressing it.
- Contradiction - two points of view that are completely opposite to each other in the same polemic cannot be equally true. One of them is false in any case.
- Basis - any expressed thought should be supported by the necessary basis so that its loyalty is clearly demonstrated.
It is also worth noting that both judgments, which are opposite in content, cannot be equally false. False is only one of them.
