8 Leadership Behaviors That Help You Be Effective Leaders Every Day

On November 9, World Quality Day was celebrated throughout the world. The event was hosted by the Chartered Quality Institute with support from the United Nations.

Every time since 1989, the organizers choose a separate aspect of quality, making it the title topic. In 2017, this is Leadership Every Day. To help companies that want to support the event, decide on the program of the event, the Chartered Quality Institute has identified 8 principles of leadership behavior that help to be effective leaders every day:

  1. Make decisions based on facts. This contributes to building a culture of evidence-based decision-making and measuring personal effectiveness.
  2. Be a follower of quality throughout. To develop knowledge of the principles of quality and opportunities that open the use of tools, techniques and approaches to improve quality throughout the organization.
  3. Think systematically. Consider all business functions, processes and hierarchy to promote a holistic view of the organization and its requirements.
  4. Be a motivator to achieve the highest quality. Empower team members and encourage employees to take responsibility for achieving the best results and improving work standards.
  5. Collaborate with others. Work with all internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues related to the effectiveness of the organization and the provision of quality goods and services.
  6. Be a quality advocate. It is always clear that achieving high quality is a strategic constant that must be supported for all the broader goals and objectives.
  7. Plan moments that can affect quality, and defend an approach to planning all potential problems that affect the quality of goods and services.
  8. Be on the client side. Become the organization’s “conscience” by intervening as necessary to ensure that customers and stakeholders are satisfied.
